So disappointed.[:(] I used a lot of float planes and very few others to try and spot these guys. Most flying from the same base.
I shut search down everywhere, and just didn't get good enough detection. My bad.
I should have assigned 10 percent of each strike squadron to naval search very narrow arc. I knew exactly where that task force was going!

Please realize I am trashing those Jugs with N1K1 George, J2M3 Jack, and Ki100 Tonies. And I only had about 43 fighters for the first Jugs sweep of 18 planes. After the bombing run, a 5 plane splinter of Jugs also swept.
The Ki61 were a mistake on my part, transferred them and forgot to take them off escort. Argh, I need those fighters.

Something Allied sank. Your pick...but I picked up 370 more victory points which I think means a CVE went down.
I continue pounding on Allied submarines wherever I can find them.

And the carnage continues. There shall be no mercy.
Nice to see that Iki und Tsushima work as designed. If I remember correctly, this was never properly tested before the AE was released [8D]

There is hope! I need destroyers badly. I need any surface combat ship.

The Tsubaki carries torpedoes, and will pray for bad weather. Maybe she will live and make her way back to Shanghai.
Maybe she will go down. But it will be fighting!

Seeing P-47´s going down in numbers is heart warming for Japanese Players, as you get to both respect these planes
and dread outcome when you see them swoop in on the combat animation. Better still if done with "out dated" planes.

It was nice to see. That was one combat replay I didn't speed up![:D]
I did swap out the Iki fortress commander. Not sure if that did anything, but the very next day they opened fire. The Allies thought I had purposefully put them on rest to draw him in so to speak.
NJP managed to get the Fusan and Tsushima forts to destroy 4 or 5 American Fleet Carriers. So, I knew they could really dish out the death! Just a question of triggering them.

Air loss chart...
I think I took out three CVE on that 600 plane loss day. Maybe 4.

I don't have much left, but I am still fighting! Trying to use my fighters very tactically...choosing the best frames and settings for the job at hand.
Sometimes it works.

Good lord. 3 different days where he lost 250 planes. I wonder what his pools look like.

The Shimoneski is the weakest CD guns in the Straits area, well at Fukuoka you have to add your own (right now I have only 16 8cm guns present across three units - enough to kill minesweepers).
Shimoeski is still pretty potent...but imho there is no reason for the Allies to wander around near these guns.
You can invade southern Korea, or Kyushu...maybe you can invade after a seriously heavy pounding.
So I am trying hard to keep them undisrupted and functional. Not an easy task...

September 10, 1944
The Tsubaki.
On the prowl for enemy carriers, preferably CVEs, she finds a battleship force. The Captain's family had lived in Nagoya, and there can only be one decision.
Flank ahead! Fire torpedoes...their off...they hit. But as the brave Tsubaki closed to 3000 yards to launch another torpedo she is hit with a 16" shell from the Colorado.
The end then comes swiftly for the Tsubaki.

The Allies bomb Kurume mercilessly.
Japanese flak covers the retreat to Fukuoka...every unit makes the march. Even the stragglers.

Japan under attack.
The Oita to Fukuoka line will try to hold, with the emphasis of course on Fukuoka.

The China theatre...supplies are very short. Allied bombers prowl at will.

Other than the odd air raid, Japanese troops are swimming in supplies in the SRA.
Heavily escorted cargo ships load at Oosthaven and Balikpapen for the long trip to Luzon or China. It is surprising that most make the journey.

Making one last shot at the rapidly disappearing Allied merchant convoy. Frances can reach out a long, long way.
I have massed my fighters at Shimoneski, and I am hoping he doesn't bombard with ships.
Moving troops, supply, etc. Hoping to buy time and Victory Points.
