CW fail with yet another ground strike against the Italian force in Libya.

Alexander relocate to Lille.

China sends a force towards Hainan.

The communists advance into Manchuria and capture a resource.

The Soviet forces in Manchuria begin two outflanking manoeuvres.

Soviet forces in Ukraine advance slowly towards Bessarabia. They also advance into Belorussia.

CW debark a MECH into Morocco.

No land combats.

France reorganize two aircraft.

Italy has one surprise point and that has no use.

Italy has to decide which of their ships that will soak up the damage. Three destroyed, 2 damaged and one aborted. Any ships that you volunteer for this duty?

Edit: Note that I included the Italian submarines so they can be used to absorb the result.

Picture from May/Jun '41 Impulse #4 (Allies) - Naval Combat
If you had not included the subs, then the Italians would only have suffered 3X, D, and A. Of course, the submarines increase the damage the Italians inflict from 2X, D, 2A, to 3X, 2A. Since the Allies have French ships to absorb losses, I think not including the subs is a better choice. The Italians have some truly awful cruisers that probably want to take the damage before the subs.

I never considered the different results when I decided to include the submarines. I just included them since I thought that warspite1 wanted them included. No idea if that was the right call or not. [:D]

All powers: Land

No Port Attacks
No Naval Air
No Strategic Bombing
No Ground Strikes
No Rail Movement

One attack in Manchuria. 2:1 vs a Soviet Corps

No aircraft from the Japanese (they will rely on fractional odds to get 3:1) and no Soviets can reach.

The Japanese choose the blitz table and sure enough get the 3:1. So 3:1 +1 on the blitz......

....5(6) - attackers all disorganised for nothing.

No surprise points rolled for the port strike against La Spezia.

The ensuing air combat was a big whoopdidoo about nothing. Awesome way to waste fuel.

And with no surprise points the result is one damage. But, of course, the Italians save and the result is nothing at all achieved. Bah!

In the north there was no surprise points either. And since there was no interception the convoy is doomed.

No naval air.

USA transfer two battleships from the West coast to the East coast. CW sail a transporter from Malta to the Azanian Sea. CW reinforce the Western Med with 4 cruisers (three box).

CW initiates a search for the Italian fleet in the Western Mediterranean. Once again the CW search roll is a failure while Italy rolls another one.

Which box will Italy include in the combat?

With 5 surprise points available you can make it a surface combat or avoid combat. Otherwise Allies will select an air combat.

Which will you select? And if you select a surface combat, will you continue to let the Italian cruiser force take the losses?

The allies bomb Stettin (CW), Turin (France) and Sapporo (USSR). All three raids fail to produce any result. Here is a picture of the best raid.

CW port strike La Spezia. Italy gains three surprise points and decides to use then to increase the AA table. This increased the AA fire from none to the worst table with the worst die roll out of six die rolls. And the lowest die roll was a 5! [X(] This destroys one of the carrier planes.

France send out a naval bomber to the three box in the Western Mediterranean.

CW reinforce the Western Mediterranean with two light cruisers.

Western Allies initiate combat in the West Med and rolls a 3 and finds. Italy rolls a 6 and this gives the Allies 6 surprise points. The Allies select naval air combat and use all surprise points to increase the combat table. The Italian AA fire is the worst die roll out of two and that is a 5. This, unfortunately, just aborts a land based bomber.
