Caber throws.
They're tossed. By burly men in skirts.

The latest offer from the Apaches is a hot dog stand at Tempe stadium and 20 Winchester repeating rifles. Still too low. Looks like Admirar Rord Nerson will be staying with the Apache for a while longer.
I think I follow you. You are suggesting we get the Apaches to pay
US to take him back? Do you think they really would? Perhaps if we let them have him a few more days.
Correct- the question you have to ask yourself is- how much would it take beforey you'd take him back?

Turn just left Plymouth, bound for the Port of New Orleans and thence overland through the wilds of Texas.
This is MUCH longer than it usually takes Rord Admirar Fabertong to do his part. This means:
A) He is suffering from a severe case of the piles and he had to do the turn standing up
or
B) He has crafted an intricate rebuttal..either a brutal counterattack by the Little Yellow Bastards or the beginning a "redeployment".

a British officer [evidenced by the lack of kilt]
Scottish officers never wore kilts, they wore trews. Only the Other Ranks qualify as Jocks in frocks.
Very well then, his preference for a dinky longsword over a Claymore marks him English, n'est-ce pas?

The guy in blue looks kinda bored... Is he waiting for a turn so that the battle can continue, too?

Turns out the Amphib group DID make Darwin even though the BB had used 750 op points??? Go figure.
The fighters are getting fatigued. Tally Ho!

Looks like a "friendly" offensive minefield laid on Bathurst (you know you DO have to attack there to capture the dot hex, eh?). This may be dangerous for your ships migrating through the Eastern passage to Darwin. Heads up on that.

The poor Torres St. Bn was not adequately prepped and is down to 6 AV ashore on Bathurst. That is one Verey pistol and two Lee-Enfield's with 12 rounds of ammo. That may be enough if Fr. O'Brien does not put up further resistance.
Neither of the minefields West of Darwin did not happen for some reason...I think the Jap DD.

(So far) A good exchange of airframes and ships for getting your amphibious TF into position and (partially) unloaded. About as good as you could have asked for, IMO.

Did the BB exchange fire with shore batteries during the landing? That would account for heavy use of op points after the TF arrived.

No, these were refueling op points generated from the game turn prior to the movement to Darwin, the smaller vessels in the convoy decided to steal fuel from
Maryland during turn execution. Consequently, I did not think the covnoy would make 4-5 hexes so the main group was set on "do not unload". This cost a half day of unloading delay. Oh well...so far so good.
