Training

Wheel training has been added to Ottoman training doctrines.
Ottoman parity with the major European states has become a reality-next goal; supremacy.

As the Sultan pointed out over 15 years ago, it will not be easy, but it is not an impossibility to achieve supremacy on the battlefield.

East Prussia

The Prussian Army has finally showed up to face the Russians. I suspect the Russians are in for a serious whipping.

North Italy

The Ottoman 1st Army has been ordered to speed march to Provence-and charge the walls. There is some doubt that it will even reach the province as there are mountains that need to be crossed-however, they will do their best. With the Sultan in the vanguard, it should do fairly well.

This is a 4 province march, if it can be done, the Spanish King will be rather surprised by its appearance.

The Empire has widened its lead on Great Britain. The difference is not much, but taken over time it can add up.

Battle Reports

It was somewhat of a surprise in reaching Provence-even to the Sultan. There was good weather all along the march. The Army even arrived soon enough to be able to assist the French in capturing the citadel. It has actually fallen into Ottoman hands rather than France's. Small matter-it will belong to France when this war is over.

Russia has moved into Prussian lands-it won't be long before a great battle.

1st Army Org

After the siege in Marseilles the 1st Army was brought back up to full strength-there is no shortage of replacement. I think this is about as large an army should become unless the 7 division corps can be attained. It is fit and large enough to fight any enemy now. It will soon be put to the test.

South France

The first Army will continue with its speed march-straight across southern France to the Bay of Biscay.

There are large Spanish forces in the area-it is hoped that a battle can be had. With the recent training, it is felt that the Ottoman Army has an upper hand in a contest with Spain.

Sweden

The 100,000 strong Swedish Army is staying close to home. That is most likely the best course of action. Its best defense seems to be that it is so far away-that is, from the center of civilization.

Russian Front

The Czar has occupied 3 Prussian owned provinces-and the Prussian Army is right next door. There will soon be heard a great roar of battle coming from the north.

Politics

Pasha is outwitting the Spanish diplomats trying to give him the boot. He will soon leave on his own accord.

Spain has achieved the field medicine upgrade-it will need it.

Strength Comparison


Ottoman strength is continuing a rapid increase-even in the face of mass speed marches and siege losses.

France has taken a drop due to the great battle in which it defeated Spain. Spain is plummeting.

Moral Comparisons

Spain is the looser here also. I wonder if King Iron Warrior will fight to the bitter end? Time will tell.

Austrian Army

The main Austrian army has pulled itself back together again. There are many other divisions outside of this force that are about 1/3 strength.

Glory Standings

All Europe is still alarmed at Spain-[;)][;)], but not for much longer.
Ottoman glory is still slightly out pacing great Britain. Hopefully, this situation between Great Britain and the Ottoman Empire can be settled in the construction yards were new art and culture centers are being built-and not the battlefield.

Otto Glory Changes

Mixed in with the normal adjustments is the 52 increase for a victory. This has given the Ottoman Empire a very good lead over Great Britain.

BTW, 52 points in glory and experience is the best that Ottoman arms have accomplished to date.

Battle Reports

The battle of Gascony was a decisive victory for the Ottoman 1st Army. It was still speed marching from Marseilles so there was some concern that the divisions would be too tired to fight well-they fought very well.

Even though Spain has the levee in mass doctrine it must be running short of replacements after losing two large battles.

It looks like Caligari has also fallen to France-more moral losses for Spain.

Spanish Glory Adjustments

Spain is taking a beating almost from every quarter. The longer King iron Warrior fights-the worst it will be for Spain.

Siege Reports

There was not much time left to capture the city of Bordeaux after the great battle. It is not really an objective of the Ottoman forces to liberate French cities-it is to defeat the Spanish Army wherever it is found.

Milan has finally fallen which will release the Egyptian Army for duty elsewhere. It will initially be sent to central Italy.

Moral Comparisons

Spain's moral has plummeted into the negative numbers-lower than Austria's. I was expecting an offer of surrender, but no-only tricks.

Spanish moral is about negative 250 at this time.
