Torres St. Bn were (notice use of plural form here even though there is only one Bn...this is a curious grammatical aberration that the poor, barely literate bumpkins in the commonwealth..[except Canadians, I think]..use) ordered to seize the island but encountered some type of difficulty.

The original plan was for Torres Strait Bn. to seize the island, allowing a USMC Raider Bn, USMC Def. Bn. and engineers and AA to land with less disruption. I shall have to investigate.
