Dear readers dudes: Steve has figured out that the rest of the test would be pointless and has supplied me w/ a new version that
has no Partisan Activity and no partisans. So I'm going to start over and I'm using the new AAA2Opart3.exe and these game
options. I'll be posting save games for those of you who want to have an indepth look at the game situation from time to time.

The British divisions are among the earliest units to move and I've decided to hit the ground running. Here's what I decided to do w/ the
British and it appears that I might get away w/ it. I'm attempting to surround the Germans and defeat them ASAP to get the advance
moving north to Messina.

Here's what I decided to do w/ the rest of them. I formed a rough perimeter and have a reserve on the coastal road and I'm thinking
just about everything is ready for the mayhem to come.

Here's the position of everything at the beginning of turn 2:

Here's the position of everybody just before the combat resolution phase. The Axis side got two turns in a row and really got into the
zone on me. I've got several places where the front lines are weak but this is the best I can do I figure.

Here's the positions of everybody at the beginning of T3: progress is being made and the British are just about ready to press to the
north.

Here's the strategic situation at the beginning of T4: It's turned into a slugfest toe-to-toe fight and I'm trying to create a hole and then
make the hole bigger and then start to roll up the enemy lines meanwhile get the British to approach Messina from the NW and S at the
same time somehow. Which neccesatates having a road besides the coastal road and that opens another can of worms that I need to
consider. I need to somehow quickly come up w/ a strategic plan and execute it. All I have at the present is Americans on the left and
British on the right and Americans try to make a hole somewhere and British press north. It's all I needed at the start but now things are
starting to open up and the character of the conflict has changed.

I was just now checking out the losses in the way of aircraft ( because I've been flying them a LOT lately ) and I'm seeing that the
Spitfire V's and P-40's are really taking it on the chin compared w/ the other types. They are the lowest performing aircraft and I'm
using them on AS missions and I guess I shouldn't. I'll put them on INT and CS instead and save some lives.

Fortunately there's a supply point really close to where the British are operating and I can afford ( supply-wise ) to run the arty w/ a
three-dot setting. That will accelerate the take down of the Germans there. I hope I have moved the arty forward fast enough to at
least equal the arty the Germans might have in this fight. I'm thinking I should use the tanks to force a hole to the north and use the
arty to block on the flank(s). I'm hoping I have enough units present to form a rudimentary front line that will have to attack to the west
to grab another road going north.

I can also go to 3-dot attacks in the American sectors because of the immediate proximity of supply points and the elevated supply
levels. That will help out trying to hold the front lines in this area. I'm having to use recon and engineers on the front lines and I'm
hoping I can eventually replace them w/ front line kinds of INF troops. Also, there's paratroopers on the front line and I'd rather save
them for parachute drops later and not waste them holding a place on the front line. Also, I'd like to get my tanks and mechanized
units into terrain where their advantage, mobility, can be expressed.

In a fit of extreme need I attacked an enemy arty unit w/ some engineers and it turns out that a 1-dot attack w/ lots of back-up arty is a
good thing. The arty took out about half of the enemy tubes in just one attack. I'm going to do that again.

Here's the situation at the beginning of T5. The German counterattacks have opened my front lines on the West side. I'm without
a reserve there too. It's not looking very secure over there. I'm trying to do too much w/ too few troops. I'm going to have to break
down some of the bigger units, I guess, to produce more units on the ground even if they are smaller. I'm hoping the American arty
can make up the difference. I'm crossing my fingers.

In WITP-AE there's a mission for the fighters called "sweep" where you attack the aircraft at an enemy airdrome w/ your fighters. I
thought I'd do one of those before anything else I do this turn. There's this enemy airfield in the NW corner of Sicily that has three
enemy aircraft squadrons on it and I thought I'd send six squadrons of fighters to attack them. Just to whittle down the Axis air power
some. I'll let you know what the results were.

I agree with the removal of the partisans. As I advance north probably 75% of the hexes have been converted to Allied control by the partisans.

I'll restart also with the latest version. Is that on your web site Steve?

A point I've noticed about railroad repair:

The two RR repair pioneer units have a very high probability of repairing the rail. Frequently when I check at the beginning of the next turn the rail hex in front of the pioneer unit has been repaired also. Can they repair two hexes in a turn?

I think the automatic rail repair tends to occur near units with RR capability if present.

Here's the East side in T6. T6 already, I'm falling behind schedule because of all the German resistance. We're still pressing to the
north along the coast and I've finally got a pretty good surround going on some pesky German units. I'm trying to mop them up even
as we speak.

OK. This is T7's front lines and the Germans are breaking through my lines AGAIN after all the struggle I gave to plug the hole and
everything. I'm going to need some British units to help plug the hole. Luckily I just happen to have some British units nearby and
ready to step up.

This is a 3.4 no new rules scenario, so you shouldn't use the New Supply or New Turn Order rules. No need to restart, just turn them both off when you get a chance. Thanks!
