Last turn my airbase at Watampone reached level 9, and I decided to celebrate with a mass oil bombing

So all bombers (at Manado) redeployed to Watampone for a brief bombing campaign, and it has to be brief because the supply level of Watampone is in the lower 20 thousands

In the Kuril theater, I set a SCTF to investigate a small TF at Shikuka, I also set the bombers to destroy oil wells
So long story short, the small TF escaped [8|] which means I will court martial the timid commander (Merril), unless he does a good job in the bombardment I ordered.
At least the LBAs were ineffective,

Back to the oil; here is an idea of what is available to Japan:


So Borneo, Burma, Java, Sakhalin are neutralized or soon to be
Sumatra is the main source of oil for Japan, with a respectable +1000 oil wells; that said he only captured Palembang in the late 42

Yeah, that's a grim Oil picture for the Empire. You're missing some centers in Manchuria and Home Islands, but Japan is producing roughly 12,000 FUEL a turn after refining that oil. That's barely enough to keep up with burn in the Home Islands, and once you figure in China HI you're running a slight deficit. And that's before using ANY for Fleet Operations.

The Empire starts with a stockpile, but he's gotta be getting low, particularly given the late fall of Palembang

what is funny is that I cannot see yet any indication of economic hardships; he is still using BBs for bombardment and he is building LBAs in high numbers

I think it is safe to say that Japan has enough stockpiles to easily go through 1943 regardless of anything that the Allies do

Once the game ends, I will start counting all the times CV Lexington got hit, torpedoed, bombed, it had to be at least 4 or 5, most of them serious... but here it is, really unsinkable, the last of the USN fleet flattops,

I also want to point out that everything is fine, that I am doing well;
I got a good "package" as I was working on this place for almost 10 years, I could technically stay idle for like a year without significant financial problems, but hopefully won't be the case

Resignation doesn't change fact, that I have few DD's 4 BB's and Little KB Carrier Group left. Almost no surface fleet. In next month I would recive few carriers more but Jorge already had well defended airbases in critical locations. Naval pilots pool was empty, but I had enough reserves in training so it wouldn't cripple me much for next few months, but later.

Even though I lost KB early in the game and Jorge executed successfully Allied invasions it was very fun to defend empire (I must admit that there was few times when I almost resigned) .
