Still fighting, Chengtu falls today...but IJA troopers in the mountains are still holding on.

Turn is done, and I have some planes flying CAP, especially in China...


Allies might be moving in force on Osaka, or perhaps a feint. Maizuru still gets plenty of attention.

Now there is almost a doubling of troops in Osaka...up against some 2000 AV of Japanese troops, that are fully supplied and not disrupted behind level 3 forts in great, if destroyed, terrain.

I am dispatching another 1,000 points of reserve AV to this area....in case they are needed.

VP ratio stands at 2.5 to one, and now I am starting to strip some Chinese towns of some of their garrisons to bolster defensive front lines...near Ichang for example.

VP ratio is under 2.5 to 1, Growth in Nov has been been .2....can I make Jan?

The 3rd Tank Division, holding the lines in reserve mode at Maizuru is tasked with a quick relocation to Osaka...in fact almost all Japanese tanks are at Maizuru, but it is the the 3rd Tank that fields the most Type 3's, and is in the best shape.

Training, elan, and leadership excellent...they depart in the middle of the night for a long run.

Will it be in time, for there is now over 6000 AV of Allied troops in Osaka....and they are fresh. Not so for the battered Japanese.

And this day, High Command is correct at forecasting the attack...the Allied AF rain bombs down on Osaka, but good forts and nasty terrain shelter the troops and there is no naval bombardments.

The Expected attack comes in the afternoon, the 3rd Tank has made the run and is in position as a fast reaction reserve force....the tanks rev their engines, ready to plug gaps, o launch counter attacks, to hold the line...

But this day, yes, this day, the reserves aren't needed.

The line holds, the forts degraded, but the Japanese troops fight and hold.

The Allied resolve is failing, they can't take the losses...the drumbeat of a negotiated peace with honor set for Jan 1, 1945 draws one day closer.

A little worse from wear, from naval bombing and aerial bombardment, the 3rd Tank is ready to fight!

You do realise that a 2:1 for the Allies on 1 January 1945 represents an unconditional surrender by Japan.

Of course, if you are preparing a public broadcast from the palace for your subjects, one could say you are being too modest. You may as well inform your subjects that as a great victory has been achieved, you have decided to spare the Allies from further pointless loss of life.

Allies look to invade Soochow, one hex north of Shanghai, and then move to Shanghai and its 2300 VPs. Not much I can do to stop them...

Supplies scarce, Allies naval bombard Maizuru and aerial bomb Osaka. A deliberate attack strikes at Maizuru, where 30% of the IJA Army troops are in reserve no pursuit mode...one IJA division is totally out of supplies along with most of the AA present.

Making for December...

Allied bombardments are slowing down at Maizuru...this is a relocation for the expected invasion of China I suspect.

Had an Oscar ram a Mitchel today, didn't even scratch the paint...but the Oscar went down.

Holding with strongpoints in China...

Shipping supplies from the SRA to China...

Holding, if barely. I suspect Shanghai falling will be the death knell...

Only one TF bombards Maizuru...I am expecting an invasion in China above Shanghai which has been pounded by heavy bombers for a week now.

Holding in China but the Allies are infiltrating everywhere.

A few fighters scramble over Kobe and do good work. The A6M5c were hugging the ground at 2000, while the George and Tonies were at 9000.

Allies are moving their troops around....seem to have given up on Osaka for now and probably look to either win the rough hex to the north, move southeast into another city or strike out cross country.

Or maybe they are resting after the last attack at Osaka. Doubtful, I bet he moves an additional 6000 AV to the north into the rough terrain.

Allies bombard Nagoya and move 35 units there. Japan has 2200 AV (light on AT/ARM and ART).

I guess this means no big invasion aimed at Shanghai?

5 more units arrived there today by rail, with plenty more coming in. I am going to strip everything to defend here over the next few days.

China...still fighting...level 4 forts in the nice terrain.

I made the right choice in not conducting a fighting retreat, but rather fighting on in my fortified positions in good terrain.

Turn is away, moving every artillry, dp unit, infantry and AA and engineers to Nagoya...all tanks are on the road to board trains for Nagoya...

This turn might be an ugly fight as AT weapons are in short supply at Nagoya...

Managed to get a half squadron up and into the air against bombing runs, where they did great downing about 19 planes mostly Hellcats and Wildcats but also 5-6 single engine bombers.

Job well done.

A6M5c are woefully obsolete, but if you can pick and choose where to use them, they can do really good work.

No attack at Nagoya...more troops are flowing in, but the Allies have at least one unit moving out.

Almost all of Japan's tanks are to the north, concentrated in massive group ready to rush to whereever.

What will the Allies do next? They are still bombing and bombarding Nagoya.
