Just wait...I have only begun to explore. [:)]

The 2 v 2 has turned into a 1 v 0. Admirar Rord Nerson has been abducted by the viscious Pueblo band. Admirar Rord Fabertong is doing pennance or some such thing and Admiral Lord SPrior is off to the Piltdown Man Reenactors Annual Convention in Sussex...or maybe it's Wessex...or is it Nossex. I forget.

So, anyway, I had to take Stalker Girl in for her pre-op exam and the doc orders an ECG. So I wheel her upstairs and there are two LVN's (female) and SG and me in the room and the first LVN asks:

Any allergies?

No

Have you had an ECG here before?

No

Your present weight?

And then...there is a sudden jolt of tension in the room. The second LVN looks toward me with alarm and the first one stops working on the computer and then they all 3 look at me like I am the pizza delivery guy at the Pentagon during the Bin Laden raid.

General Turgidson: Right, any sign of an air defense system alert in Pakistan? If this gets out early we are seriously ******.

Me: OK, who ordered the deep dish with the works, hold the anchovies?

I will pay for your consort...up to $5, but you have to post the picture of your "date".

Cripes, Mandrake, even back in the 70's a lousy $5 wouldn't get you in the door of a "Social Club" in Olongapo or Gate 2 Street/Kadena.

Up the ante, big spender!

No, you misunderstand. The fun would be in seeing how many teeth she has.

I considered a few responses to this post. Finally, I decided to simply share with you a bit of Russian wisdom.

Зубов боятсья, в рот не давать.

Since this is a family forum I will leave the translating to you gents.

Cap, I think it's you who misunderstands: We don't want to see a picture of a coyote ugly babe with no teeth.

But a picture of a $2,000 a night call girl: we're quite interested!

I had this precocious 3 year old tell me today:

3 year old: Ooh, I like your hair" [:D]

Me: Oh, you like the new blonde highlights?

3 year old: uh..huh. <said with perfect inflection and finely-honed feigned sincerity>

Her parents laughed till they were red in the face. She probably heard her mom say it 500 times in that fake female way so she just adopted it. Even so, it was funnier than Hell and I love that kid. She might have said "you smell like my grandpa" or something....but she didn't so I love that kid. I find it oddly disquieting but you can pretty much tell by age 3-4 who is going to be one of the in crowd and who is going to be playing on-line wargames on prom night.

Ahhh...who am I kidding. I am not really sorry.

Darwin/Bathurst/Saumlaki: True to form, JJ tried a night surface raid on the helpless ships at Saumlaki trying to unload dozers and shore guns. The baaahsterds!

Night Time Surface Combat, near Saumlaki at 78,117, Range 5,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
CL Tama
DD Teruzuki
DD Kawakaze, Shell hits 2

Allied Ships
CA Portland, Shell hits 2
CL Detroit

DD Henley, Shell hits 2

The LYB's get their T-crossed, fight to a draw and wisely withdraw. The Arried TF CO, Adm. Blevins, has spine because somebody set the rheostat in his neck to "High Threat Tolerance". So they stay on station. Next up is an ammo-eater taffy of 2 DD's that were probably supposed to arrive first.

Allied radar has them coming in from 23K yds, Blevins crosses the T again...but his boys can't shoot straight. Even so, mission accomplished. JJ retreats.

Honestly, women didn't start throwing themselves at me, begging for carnal staisfaction, till I was 18. If it hadn't been for that really nice teacher, Mrs. XXXXX, I would have been desperate.

Meanwhile Colorado and Maryland do what they are good at. Quite a few damaged airframes or gorunded planes on the ground. I think you can fly off repaired planes from a 100% damaged airfield but I'm not sure about that.

I would not pay $2,000/night for that.

And for the record, I went to my senior prom.

Of course I was the only guy there without a date, including the class computer ultra-geek.

Back to WWII(c), from what I have seen you only need one spotter per TF.

And you don't mean "practicing", right?

Scene from Love and Death. The Woody Allen character hooks up with some hot Russian Countess. After the action the room is torn up with clothes strewn all over and the furniture turned over. The fatigued couple are in bed with abundant afterglow.

Hot Russian Countess: That was fahntahhsteek!

Boris: I'm such a great lover because I practice a lot when I am alone.
