Col Zap's report: Still low on supplies, had to leave several panzers behind do to high road usage and lack of supplies. We advanced into the area cleared out by the SS guys. Wish we had their fuel. No fighting for the last week, troops are anxious but happy for not being shot at.

Below is what the Axis are seeing. I have crossed the river at Daugavpils (green circle). Again my units are way low on supplies. The red lines are areas that the Soviets have set up some sort of line. The southern one is the Stalin line. The one in the middle is I gather just units that couldn't get out and have become a big roadblock. I am closing in on Minsk (yellow circle) and should be assaulting it next turn and if not at least encircling it.

Cutting the line to Murmansk makes it harder for the Sov's to get reinforcements to the area, and it is worth winning up there precisely because Murmansk is a supply point and all supply points should be targets.

Also there's the possibility (remote!) of putting pressure on Archangel, which is definitely worth capturing also as its capture lowers overall Sov supply by 5%.

Luftwaffe attrition - the LW lost some 1700-2000 planes in Russia in 1941. given 52 turns in a half year of FitE that's 30-40 a/c destroyed per turn on average, including teh later turns where few would actually fly due to weather. I'm not sure if a/c in FitE are destroyed or some are returned to the pool tho.

Edit - and remember the 150mm howitzers in the regiments only have a range of 5000m - they were intended for direct fire support of attacking infantry so were a bit more vulnerable than a "normal" 150mm might be.

Here's the reinforcements that the Soviets got in turn 4. There's 49 of them. That plus the 610 from turn 3 gives 659. 659 minus the 628 living now gives 31 units killed in turn 4.
