The Summer of 42 is going to be the last hurrah for the once proud Wermatch. The are intothe Crimia.. yet we will at a minimum slow them there, whil the North.. .. South of Lenn is awash in super supplied heavilyarmed and seasoned Soviet troops, the Nasties are frightened of attacking there.. or should be! South of Smolensk we are both dug in as I await the summer offensives... and then when he has advanced into my second lines .. if even then.. and his supplies are strained .. OPERATION TREEFALL will begain with the advance of nearly ten thousand tanks along a front of several hundred km! the goal? Advance into POLAND!

The mud in fall 42 ends and we begin our post 3.2 patcfh foray into Eastern Poland. I am strung out as I have so many troops and so little rail, very little of my army is "up front" but where they Germans dug in close to me along the main rail line/ highwy between Minsk and Polish frontier fortification we have a HUGE battle. HE retreeted to Kiev, I ahave not even reached it after several turns, and after blowing through a few weak units my hundreds of units strong Southern force is itself racing forward with leading elements attacking Dnprovosk. Between there and Kiev I have one good breach of the Dnepre... pix soon.
fyi I have, as a result of holdingthe key sov cities , so many toops that all I need to do to rebuild to 100% troops levels is slow down and resupply, .. tens of thousands of key inf and plane groups waiting around Moscow and Gorki, Stalin has been ask by key ministers to reduce troops alotments to allow greater industry, but this suggestion has been scorned as more US made goods come into portsd in the North!

Few comments...
I have read one page of your AAR and can make few comments...
1. you mention disbanding big tubes??? is that means that you disbanded arty or inf that were encircled or half encircled...
If answer is yes that is in my book most severe cheat.
Yeah, I know what house rules say but imagine in real life soviets simply vanishing from front lines.
2. germans must play slowly their turns if they play too fast THEY WILL LOSE no matter bonuses you have given to them! (siberian air there or free move of finish etc...).
I am amazed that some people play fite 2-3 turns a week - that is only to Soviet advantage because as axis you must play slowly turns, no way to win as axis if you play too fast, you will lose.
Also, no offense but if you manage to hold Smolensk, Odessa (!!!) , and some other cities that your opponent is truly a rookie because in FiTE germans must be really fast so they cannot allow Soviets to hold Odessa so much etc...
Even at that German have only slim chance to win this scenario if Soviets manage to pull back and save most of it's forces. This aar shows Germans moving at snail pace - you can never win as Germans if you move like that. So as Axis you must have PLANS and stick with them. Plans for everything, use paper and pencil. Plan where reinforcements going, if you can bridge bomb esp. in Ukraine. And other plans.
So if you play too fast you will always lose as Germans - simply german turn takes time to play, Soviets can play it faster because they are on defense, you must be creative as germans. And when someone say "play 2-3 turns " a week in FiTE is a joke - only worst USSR player can then lose. and of course how can german play 2-3 turns a week - that means no life at all, only sleeping, eating and fite, and no shaving lol.

I consider myself an above average player, not great, not terrible. Playing slowly imo hurts the German.. if you cannot remember what yo7u where doing etc etc.
Regarding ddisbanding tubes, I disbanded the artillery in the west to save it in the early stages of the war, it was in cities and in supply.
If you play 250-300 turns at 2 3 turns a week you are lookingat palying a REALLY long fite.. and no thankyou I am not interested in that !

The first few turns take hours, but the time needed starts to decrease after that...after Barbarossa is over you don't need much more time than Soviets...or then you're either a very slow player or doing lots and lots of unnecessary things. 3-5 turns is easy...more than 1 a day is however hard...but on the other hand, for example I don't watch tv, so when I come home from work I play a turn of fite and then proceed to other things.

Re: disbanding - I still think it's unfair to disband them near the front as yes you save transport points and you get them back but then Germans are at disantvantage because they need to destroy them. Disbanding in this scenario is not fair of course IMHO.
It is like magic stick that makes units dissapear.
Who wants to disband units in Moscow OK but near front no. I would include that in notes. You can move arty under interdiction if you like just like historically, but no magic sticks of making units dissapear.
Playing slowly if you have plans, on paper no way you will forget something.
Ha! 2-3 turns a week. I am playing 1 a week or even worse if real life get into way.
If Germans are playing very fast then you makes lot's of mistakes and you cannot win.
I didn't also meant to offend your opponent but if you cannot capture cities near historical dates or even better you are dead meat as Germans - that's why you could launch such a big offensive so early, shatter his front, knock out Finland and in spite of Sweden entering the was win the war much sooner. Remember you are getting much more tanks etc... because he didn't even captured historical cities in 1941.
Smart move of getting Sweden into war as they will not help axis much with their rifle squads (suck at offense) and you get air units. If you have good defensive lines then even Sweden cannot help Axis you will just have more to destroy.
And yes fun is also uncertanity.

I am not doing unnececary thing. I cannot play TOAW more than few hours without getting burned lol and I have other things to do. TV is boring heh with that I agree.
Well, suit yourself - we don't have to agree but I stand by my words that playing too fast just benefit Soviets. I like to be methodical - for example to set good bridge bombing missions sometimes and that also takes times. you must write all that % odds in a notebook so that you are sure that bridge will be blown. moving of units takes time, movin air units takes time, moving of reinf. takes time. I don't enjoy playing as robot without thinking where will some units go. for example sometimes you must think where your schwerepunkt will be, what units will go there.
but to each it's own. I am not saying that I am right just it is my way of playing fite.

Too fast or slow is a personal style issue, like what type of food, no? I think that playinghte Germans slow, for me, puts me at a disadvantage, I am always asking myself, especially with several pbem games going, what was I doing here or there, and when I can get a turn in the am, and one or two at night then I feel the "flow" or Rythm. I was not at all offended, and perhaps you are right re the artillery..
REgarding taking the primary cities.. well, when Smolensk did not fall he was doomed, he almost surrounded Lenningrad, but the first winter KILLED him and his army in the norht vanished as a fighting force.. and 42 was a slugfwestm, he had the quality and I the numbers, now as he continues to retreat, Iwill get thte pre programmed CHEAT of all CHEATS.. mandatory shock in 43 44 45 for the soviets.. if I felt poeple wanted it and had some coaching with the editor I would change shock in the latter part of the war to reflect cities taken ie moral...

this post shows the lines where are major attacks are taking place, and we actually have a built up rail net, as a reference note Brest L and Minsk, the date is Mid November 42..

Enjoying ur AAR its interesting to see progress made im soviets in my game ive faired poorly Lenningrad fallen Crimea overrun Sevastopol stands but is under attack and wont last to many turns its only early 1942 turn 63 my winter offensive made someheadway and is still underway,Axis are recovering so i can expect a new offensive soon.

Well, what version are you playing? the standard, this one or a mod? <Akes wuite a difference.. sorry to here about lossing Lenningrad, but I took almost the entire board and still got crushed as the German player in another game as the end war red army kicks ass.

BREAKOUT! afterweeks of punching smallish holes in the German army Group center and North to the North of the marshes and west of Minsk, see below, this week the Red army blew large holes and raced forward. Does this spell the end of the German control of The north and all of central Poland.. Warsaw is now only weeks away!

Breakout part 2 Second week of December 1942
We are at Breast levostk,sp? see circled below, also see several key bridges taken intact and airstrips ! my troops are now low on supply as the offensive "officially" ended.. game bonus. In the south nothin much.. one bridgehead accross the Dnepre as my rail net is still "in the red".
I have so many units in the area from the Marshes North, I am sure in this one area alone I have more units than the rest of the map in its entirity, and I am moving straglers from the Southern area towards Karkov and the built up rail net where they can refit and either join the battle crossing the dneppre or be rail shipped to the attacks into Germany, which will commence in earnest in Jan 43

Several turns latter and Warsaw has fallen, the remainer of AGC is gone, AGS is in full flight towards the West, and AGN is being ground to dust around Konigsburgh

the frease melts and Berlin is surrounded early 1943, even though the entire AGS remained reletively intact. Odessa was reached and new supplies flowed into a starved red army South with orders to bypass AGS and hit Ploisti and the Southern areas.. but before the mud stopped us, news came from a belegered Berlin, encircled by numerous armies of well supplied Red army troops that The US had brokered a peace deal where Hitler gets a Summer home in Mexico and a Winter Home in Sweeden, all German armies surender in place. Then Hitler is assasinated by what can only be the British SAS, not to be outdone by those damn yanks.. who are: " over paid, oversexed and overhere" refering to the millions of us personel in England awaiting the invasion of Westeren Europe.
When asked why the Reds beat us to Berlin Ike responed, to save US soldiers lives we delayed our invasion and sent supplies to the Red brothers, a smirking Patton was quoted that, "We Will only have to fight the reds now", prompting the democratic party to call for his removal from the army. [X(]
Game ends
