Thanks.  No hurry.  It's not like I'm going anywhere either.  I'm at work too.

Regarding the Arnhem scenario in the 2D screenshot, my recollection is, playing as the German, crossing the bridge would cost so much in lost Strength Points that it was difficult to win the scenario that way.  Even if you neutralized the British on the riverfront, there were others waiting behind the riverfront waiting to ambush you.  Also, once you crossed the river, unless you were lucky, you were forced into a park (orchard), and the British, fighting from city hexes, had a tremendous advantage.  On the other hand, if you just duked it out over the river, the Germans had superior firepower and could win a minor victory.

While difficult, it is possible to win as the Germans. It boils down to the order of firing of your units, knowing when to assault across the river, and having enough across to secure the position.

On second thought, I can figure out how those countries fit into the scheme of things after I purchase the game.  I'm waiting for the box and the manual.  If someone knows off the top of their head, great.  Otherwise I'm sure you've got better things to do than to look this stuff up.

I checked my reference book last night.  German, Italian, and Hungarian troops participated in the invasion of Yugoslavia, so my guess is the Yugoslavian troops are there for scenarios involving the Hungarians.  I don't believe Rumanian troops were involved, but German troops jumped off from Rumanian soil.

I didn't check, but my recollection is Albanian troops accompanied the Italians into Greece in October/November 1940, so the Albanian troops would be Axis troops.  I don't think the Albanians put up enough resistance to the Italians when they invaded Albania to make any scenarios worthwhile.

As noted before, I'm guessing the Bulgarian troops are Allied.

Are Czechoslovakian troops being considered for new countries?  It would be hypothetical for 1938 or 1939.  You'd have to check, but I think I read somewhere that when Germany made its move on Czechoslovakia, Poland and Hungary invaded Czechoslovakia as well and took small chunks for themselves that Germany permitted them to keep.  I believe I read that in Churchill's memoires.

Can the 2D view map icons be toggled to NATO symbols?  If so can somebody post a screen shot?

thanks
