Any word on how the tutorial is doing?

Also, conquered vs free state: pros and cons?  It seems a poor nation like Spain or Turkey should leave the minors as conquered to soak up the manpower and money, where as rich nations like France and England can cut them lose as Free States.

If the UK is drawn into a slugfest on land, they could use the manpower to replenish losses, especially if they're from low-morale areas like the Ottoman countries. If the army's full and there are a lot of low-morale minors to supply manpower, then the high-morale minors might be useful for some additional corps. Even some of the low-morale ones... some of the North African ones can hold a decent number of cavalry.

France -- if busy on multiple fronts, will likely appreciate more corps once the French corps are decently ready, and the potential free states you're likely to get and keep tend to be pretty decent.

Turkey... is an interesting case, because (a) it can't buy militia of any kind, (b) cannot garrison with feudal factors, (c) has... what, exactly three infantry corps, and very low income with which to replenish them combined with often low-forage areas that makes depot supply more important. If Turkey keeps minors conq, then its ability to e.g. scatter garrisons in Russian provincial capitals is significantly lower. OTOH, Turkey needs every $ it can get. :?

Just wanted to let you all know the tutorial guide is currently in layout. I think it will be a help to new players who don't have previous EIA experience. I'll post here as soon as it's been released and we'll include it in the next update as well.

One month since the above post.

Any news?

Sorry guys, I've been immersed in the upcoming Panzer Command: Kharkov release and forgot to post here. Layout on the tutorial took way longer than expected due to a backlog with our layout guy, but I expect the tutorial to be posted here next week.

Dear Erik

On 28 January 2008 you promised a tutorial, and promised that it would be available within a few weeks. It is now 21 April and like so many others who bought this game I am still waiting for this essential guide so that I can start playing the game.

I bought this game when it was first offered for sale. As soon as I received it I realised that it was far too complicated for me to play, and I immediately contacted Matrix Games to ask for a tutorial. I was directed to the Forum.

Members here have been very helpful, but frankly I did not understand the answers. Like so many others I need a simple "idiots guide" to get me started. I am frankly amazed that Matrix should expect anyone to be able to play such a complex game without a tutorial. And to your credit you have accepted that one is necessary.

It is now 13 weeks since you promised the tutorial "within a few weeks". I have no idea what work is involved in producing a tutorial. But does it really take this long?

Can you please, please, please allocate whatever resources are necessry to provide the promised turorial as an immediate first priority.

I'm sorry I neglected to post in this thread again, but we did release the tutorial and are monitoring feedback and will be updating it as required.
