After devastation of Western assault Japan is scrapping together what is can and at least has put a force in Taiwan

Whether this makes any difference now seems doubtful

How long can we hold out?

44 summer, Soviet and WA prepared to invade Japan.
If Japan put all in Honshu maybe they have a chance to see the winter.

44 Fall, Soviet occupied Hokkaido while WA invaded Kyushu.
All Japanese defences were too vulnerable under intensive Allies bombardment(10 units in Kyushu were damaged by bombard from air/sea).

To give some comments to this game:

Germany was surely not well prepared for Barbarossa, these battles were not showed in AAR but I remember that Germany received some bigger than usual loss in Kiev and E Poland.
The first winter turn, Germany tried to threat Leningrad is proved as a wrong move, Soviet had a good raison to attack them. After this battle Germany had lost initiativity and caused the loss of Kiev.
Another deadly fact is Germany had a light defense in France and Low Countries (no Inf, only one Art), this caused an early invasion of WA, which accelerate the fall of Germany.
Then Germany did not put a heavy defense in one region but tried to hold everywhere, this caused a very quick defeat of its force.

Japan had a good chance to make a better defense of South Asia, but they had just been push back to meet Russia troops. These Carriers near Hawaii should retreat earlier to avoid to be destroyed.
Japan had only a few fighters so their unprotected fleets were destroyed very fast.
Japan attacked China in a unfavorable situation, and its armies were never be able to come back to home.
Any way, an interesting game and my opponent replyed very fast.
Happy to see we are the first to finish.

Yep Ning got some good comments there

I am really fairly pleased since I haven't played this game as PBEM as Axis for about 2 years

I think some of my tactics worked great just need to knit it better in to a strategy

A few attacks I made were ineffectual and I should have seen that coming (LW fighters v RAF in Norway, trying to break out of Italian East Africa to Kenya)

I had considered doing Norway because it is in keeping with scenario themes but anyway it certainly has strat potential as demoed by Ning!

I think it's always a bit gamey to withdraw from contact with Russia in 1st winter but I guess you just have to do it unless you are really overwhelming to them. It certainly lost momentum I couldn't build up again when force in Veli got beaten up but it was just too predictable! [8|]

I have a few things to watch out for. LW was knackered from start when French Air attacked it so avoiding that will be on to do list for next game!

I can see how just stalling more with Germany helps Japan so much and in terms of victory in game is really useful. I would have had much more defence in depth with time to set up and clear up China before allies turned up in strength

Anyway thanks Ning look forward to future games

Bump.
Hopefully after reading an AAR and with the new patch that allows pbem++ people will become interested in this game again.
