One question to you experts in Fite.
I hear many people complain that Fite is over in the first year, and hardly anybody makes it to the second year.
Do you think is because the Germans try to push too hard and passes to the defensive too late and by the time the soviets take the ofensive the german line of defense is too long and the units are too worn?
I am playing an scenario of the Bulge, and I think I have pushed to far, and when teh allies begun to take strenght, my units were just too weak, and now there just no way of stopping them

I don't know that I'm an expert in FITE but I'll be glad to try to answer your question.

That's probably what happens in the majority of the cases. Are you playing August Fog? If not you simply have to give it a try....it's great. I'm one of the playtesters and I love it. Steve Sill outdid himself ( again ) and produced a real gem of a scenario. It's so good I predict that it has the potential to become one of the classic TOAW scenarios. Plus the map is pretty.

The one I am playing is Ardennes 1944. I would say is mid size.
The one you talk about I do not have. Is it available somewhere?

You can either get it from me or Steve Sill (sPzAbt653). My email address is
larryfulkerson2002(at)yahoo(dot)com. If you'll email me I'd be glad to reply with August Fog as an attachment.

IMO one of the problems with FITE is that it is too big for the game system - it is good for the operational aspects, but not so good for the strategic ones & doesn't handle things like strategic supply all that well - just o be even more contentious (as an example..

) IMO there was no chance the Axis taking Moscow in 1941 IMO - they were literally at the end of the supply chain, and although games almost always give them some chance (otherwise where's the fun in playing the Axis??) it's not "realistic".
When I was helping Buzz test his mods we got as far as about T82, but then TO's started falling apart, there were too many errors in the system, etc - trying to set TO's for all the possible strategic options must be a nightmare for the people game enough to try it!!
Also FITE is just a freakin' long game, and people change their priorities as life progresses!! :/

Roger that SMK-at-work. I hear you. I feel your pain. But the good news is that I finally got through with Axis turn 12. And I got the new version of AAR finished. It's frames this time and it's faster to build on my end. Maybe you guys will like it better than the old style. You can find it here:

The Axis turn 13 AAR is finished. I made some gains here and there and it's getting more and more exciting. Kiev is a focus of attention. Odessa got some action again. The Gomel area was the site of some carnage. You can find the AAR here:

Hi El Cid
I am currently on turn 89 (26 Apr 42) as the Germans and I am currently on "a significant Victory" level. How ever it is unlikely that "Case Blue" will win the war so my best hope is to win by holding out until turn 406.
At our current rate this game should finish in the next 3 to 4 months and then Larry and I have agree to a game if neither of us are burnt out by then.

Picture from Southwest front. Note, Larry bring some Panzers there, and he might try to get thru' the line ASAP. So i need to carry out more some reinforcements immidiately into that area!

This is the area where all the magic happens: Centre. Larry really pressures this area, because of many cities ahead (Bryansk & Smolensk). Second line is finally built up now... Third line coming soon? [8|]

This pic is from centre-carnage also, but little bit more north. Larry's 12. Panzer division almost broke thru' my line (where the bulge is), anyway now it holds again:

I finally finished the Axis turn 14 moves. I cleaned up Odessa somewhat, made some gains just south of Leningrad, pushed east near Gomel, etc. There were 7 combat turns and so many attacks that the size of this download is just over 15M bytes. You can find the turn 14 AAR at this address:

Here's a shot of the south of Leningrad area early in Axis turn 15. I managed to surround some Soviet units and pretty soon now they won't exist. I say early in the turn....I mean round 2 or 3 or something like that. There were 7 ( seven ) combat rounds and I quit only because everybody was getting tired and the arty was glowing red hot and the planes weren't combat ready anymore etc. You can download the Axis turn 15 AAR from here:

Turn 16 done now. Couple things to worry about: 1) City of Odessa will fall soon, bitter fighting in City's centre going on. I started evacuate some important arty-brigades from there etc. 2) Leningrad's old line is destroyed almost completely, and new is formed in front of city. Axis get now even closer the Leningrad (10% production), which is not good. 3) Fulkerson's 2nd & 3rd Panzer armies in centre are hammering my lines hardly, Smolensk will fall sometimes in future and also Kiev 100% sure.
