The totals in the losses screen do not seem to add up properly. Are not the recent battle losses and permanent current turn losses additive?
So 12,697 plus 6,747 does not add up to 22,158. Where are the missing losses or am I not readying the losses right?

Nice graphics - great AAR Elmo - this game is already on my CAPEX budget -- irrespective of what "my minister of War and Finance says!"
Do you have any Brandenberger or Fallschirmjäger units that could be used in LOG cut-off ops?
cheers..

The numbers are not meant to be added horizontally. See the Soviet losses. Clearly 394 + 3242 does not equal 753956. However there might be a problem as according to the manual the Men Killed/Captured/Disabled should equal the Total Permanent Loss number and it does not. Will have to check into that.

What does the crt look like? Does it give you odds when you click on a def hex?
Great AAR.

No Brandenbergers. I "think" there is a Fallschirmjager in the OOB somewhere but I don't work on the OOB. The Soviets have some airborne units.

Great AAR.
Depending on the detection level (see Joel's post in this thread) you get a rough idea of the defense value of the defenders. The defender may also add reserves and you don't see that until you are committed to the attack. Support units might also be added by either side. Ammo affects combat. Air units might participate. There are penalties for mixing organizations. Etc. Many of those factors are hidden from you or only taken into account once the battle starts so there is no CRT giving you any odds like in many board games. With experience you can get a pretty good idea how an attack will go but there is randomness in the system as well so nothing is guaranteed.

Yikes! Someone was worried about the Red Army being destroyed on turn 1!? Take a look at this shot from turn 3 after my air recon. Will try to get turn 3 done and posted later today.

With regards to the 20th Mot Div, are they in supply? If the Soviets have ZOC"s it looks to me as if they are, in fact, cut off.

Forgive me, Elmo3, for bombarding you with questions, for I am very much anticipating this game! That aside, here's another:
You stated that the goal for AGC was Moscow, eschewing Hitler's mistake of an Uber-encirclement east of Kiev. What are the victory
conditions? Is there a 'drop-dead' condition for the Soviets (i.e., the loss of Leningrad, Moscow, and Stalingrad)?

The unit is not isolated because we last occupied the hexes adjacent to that unit and still have ZOC's between the 12th Pz and 20th Mot Div. It is down to 39% supplies and 36% fuel though so it's MP's are reduced as you can see. So it is not in any immediate danger but they are either going to need other units to widen that gap or they will pull back to a safer position.

We have not established victory conditions yet. Losses will be a part of it and taking cities will be another part. This is under discussion on our beta forums and I believe Joel started a thread here somewhere for others to provide input.

Early-war, "Luftwaffen-Division Meindl" attached to AGN comes to mind, and should be there somewhere...

AGN continues to push north and east and is only seeing spotty resistance. Perhaps the Soviets are on R&R in Leningrad before the winter comes? 18th Army (purple) found no more Soviets west of Riga. They were there last turn so maybe they were transported out by sea. 16th Army (pink) is lagging a bit but trying to keep up on the right flank of 4th Pz Grp. And 4th Pz Grp is heading toward Tallinn and Pskov. We will have completed the rail line to Riga by the next logistics phase so supply should not be an issue.

Sorry I'm not an OOB guy. Maybe one of the other testers will comment on that.

The Soviet evacuation of Riga opens the ugly question of the war at sea; Is there one and how is it modeled?

Elmo-
Many thanks for the AAR. Very excited about the game. Your earlier shot of losses reminded me of a question-- I believe it was said elsewhere in the forums that there is repair of some of the lost vehicles/planes (non-permanent losses)-- is there a way to see the numbers "in the shop" so that you could anticipate higher than normal replacements being available in future turns?
Also, in the above screen shot of AGN, there is a unit of 4th Pz group that is a black background-- is that simply to designate the "currently selected" unit, or is there another meaning to the black background.
Thanks for the preview of the game!
Alex
