Alright clear as mud buried under snow in a blizzard with rain scudding away on the horizon in the gloom of evening.

In the real game you held the Germans at the border and defeat Rumania in 41.

In the made up game the Germans are being deceived into thinking they are doing better than the above.

And for Carnage, Game #2 is real and game #1 is fantasy. And both games or the one TRUE game is buried somewhere in this AAR.

So it really just depends on your perspective, concept of reality, and/or whatever your choice of Hallucinogen is.

Completely understood now. Thanks.

Clearly it would be impossible for Carnage to accept the reality of game 1 so he gets psychological release in an imaginary 2nd game

Staying with the fantasy game

Image

Carnage retreats 2 hexes per turn now so few attacks posible. Defenders in front of Velikye Luki don't run far enough and the eagle-eyed will see 17th Pz and an inf division surrounded

casualties - lower since he started running. Blizzard attrition puts the figure over 100K per turn. The record was xmas day when 187K Nazis met the fate they deserve

dead units

This is what has made Carnage's position untenable. The loss of so many divisions has meant he's having to put his armour in the front line for me to chew on (and 1 more inf and 1pz div surrouded this turn) so I can't see any possiblitiy of '42 offensive from him.

Carnage has said my 2 cavalry armies , 1 in the south ane one that has operated heading due west to and past Smolensk, have made his life very difficult. I should have formed a 3rd cav army but rest of cav split between a number of armies. They cav has been responsible for almost all the surrounds.

The German player can barely afford to lose any divisions at all, much less 17 ...

Indeed, and after losing 3 more divs ( 2 german + 1 rum shatter) and having 2 more german divs surrounded in my next turn, Carnage surrendered. I don't blame him as his army was dying in droves and even his armour was getting chewed badly. He was long past having any capacity for a summer offensive and I would have kept going.

That is therefore the end of both games on this AAR and of the AAR itself.

Thank you for your time, gentle reader.

The (enemy) offered to capitulate over the radio. The general commanding the garrison gave the order. 'Soldiers! Hitler to whom you have given the oath. has committed suicide.' Vasily Grossman

Postscript: Carnage himself is believed to have sworn allegiance to Her Brittanic Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
