Wow. This thread is really moving along with some great ideas.
For the record- it is possible to add completely new aircraft, weapons, and parts. I've already successfully done it.
Basically, the possibilities are almost endless. [8D]

There are still bugs in the engine that needs to be worked out. Can't be done without access to the source code. Now I can't do anything about that, in the meantime I'm adding flavor to the game. Would like to hear from allied players about fighters, already heard the Corsair brought up. I was under the impression that it did see action in the ETO albeit in smaller numbers. Also to put the pressure on could be nice to push up a later Mustang or something into mid-late '44.
Keep in mind all changes need playtesting for balance. More a/c types into the German planeset means more options, not more plane types available. One still will have to pick strategy carefully and plan accordingly to make the chosen aircraft types available. At least its my intention to make it so..

Allied fighter additions RAF
DH Hornet upgrade for Mosquito
Bristol Brigand upgrade for Beaufighter
DH Vampire ok a bit of a stretch
Spitfire XVI, 22, 24
Tempest VI
Tempest II for npsergio's Bombing the Homeland mod [:)] You are definitely going to want the Brigand and Hornet for that.

The Corsair saw very limited action off Norway with the FAA, the Hellcat also fought off Norway and in support of the Dragoon landings where the are were credited with a few victories.

As much as upgrading aircraft, I also like downgrading the available aircraft.
What if the P51's all went to the Pacific, or no drop tanks, or no FW types.
Take out the German RADAR and see what happens!!

About engine requirements and fuel consumption. There are two different engine parameters in aircraft types, one is related to fuel consumption in the 'aircrafts' tab, the other is related to engines required to complete the aircraft at assembly and located in the 'devices' tab.
Just thought I'd bring attention to that since it was discussed earlier.

Only one minor answer: there's a way to change the 'incenidary bomb' to 'incendiary bomb'?[:D]

he, he, he... If I only had time for it... I'm sorry but I don“t have te resources nor the knowledge to do it. Before yesterday the only that I knew about the air campaign in Japan was that it happened [8|]
But I looked at the database yesterday an I think that it's possible to do it. You only need:
- Japan map, and the US bases (Marianas, Iwo, etc)
- OOBs
- TOE
- Run the game with the Japan map and take notes of the coordinates (does this word ever existed??) of the bases, factories and cities
- Introduce the planes, devices, weapons, bases and objectives, replacements, pilots (japanese also), production... into the database
...and share it with me! [:D]

Just a FYI I'm correcting the Ta152 top speed ratings.
152H: 457 mph
152C: 455 mph
Should give a more historically accurate representation of the types. They weren't quite THAT fast.

Hover your mouse over one of the tabs at the bottom of the window.
Press right mouse button and select 'Show' or 'Unhide'.
I don't know the correct name, because I'm using the german excel version and
there the entry is called 'einblenden').
Select the 'calc' sheet to be shown.
There you can change the typo at cell B39 (col 2, row 39)

The Ta 152 H-1 was capable of 463 mph with methanol-water injection and a boost pressure kit. With GM-1 injection (intended to be standard equipment) it was capable of ~470 mph at 12.5 km alt. But I'd vote to keep this special GM-1 boost off the stats but you'd have to keep water/alcohol injection mehtods.

Thanks I'll up the rating to 463.
The H-0 had only the MW50 boost installed. The H-1 had both MW50 and GM-1 installed from the factory but it's uncertain if the GM-1 system was retained in the field. It may have been too much work to take the GM-1 system out, but the GM-1 tank (behind the cockpit) also destabilized the airframe aerodynamically to the point it became very challenging to fly.

Not more destabilizing effect than the big tank in the P-51. I may look into my books again but can't remember to have seen such a comment about the tank.

The GM-1 boost system was added after the H design was completed. The 70-liter tank was placed behind the cockpit moving the CG slightly aft, enough to be noticeable.

GM-1 has always been planned for the Ta 152 due to being designed as high-alt fighter. Both Bf 109 and Fw 190 had been given a tank aft of the cockpit but it required just some small changes to restore CoG (like moving the bomb carrier somewhat forward).

Testing has confirmed that the exe is unable to cope with too much change. While the DB editor make it possible to change a lot of things there is no guarantee the exe can handle it. The changes I made caused the exe to crash. So I'll have to start over from scratch and I'm not sure it's possible to change or introduce more than a couple aircraft types or so. Every change has to be tested and verified. The exe seem to be very buggy and without the source code nothing can be done about it.

It seems to be impossible to add new aircraft into the db even though there is plenty of room. The exe must have the aircraft and device info in specific rows so what we are left with is to mod existing aircraft or replace them, using the same rows in the editor. Entering data elsewhere is likely to cause unpredictable problems.
