Singapore has about 90,ooo supply points on hand. I wish now the two brigades wiped out early
in northern Malaya were in the perimeter now. Bataan has about 28,ooo but dwindling fast.

Since he had few ground loses does it appear he had landed the majority of forces already? A great strike you must have sprinted those two carriers there. I landed at Palmebang a little later and covered it with 6 carriers and also from Singapore and Singkawa. So it appears he risked a rapid invasion and let his amphib TF fend for itself mostly in regards to air cover.

Francois got something like 2200 men ashore. I believe I decimated the division however he has enough to do the job.
I'm guessing there may be a supply issue and he may feel a need to withdraw his transports as I don't believe he has
anything that can challenge me in the next 24 hours without becoming really exposed. I am thankful to make Palembang
a costly venture. Big E and Lex were waiting just to the lee of Christmas Island IO to pounce on a Java landing. The intel
and the naval search allowed me to shift easily to the north and deliver some punishment.

Nicely done !

I may have found a chink in Francois armor. The air war is fickle in AE. There the measures and counter measures. I would
not have conducted that landing without a lot more recon and escort. However in his defense the Dutch hardly hit anything
and I would be pretty sure he did not expect the USN to be there with naval air.

That was a nice set of ambushes!

These bases are frequently taken by Japan just to make moving on the DEI more difficult/time consuming and provide more warning of such. Has he taken Darwin yet?

Thank you sir. After the initial "distress" at seeing the landings particularly at Groote Eylandt I
found myself a bit panicked. After doing some easy calculations and remembering this is not War in the East
A possible landing at Normantown even in conjunction with a landing on the NE coast is less "scary".
Darwin in under recon but still in Allied hands. It is weakly defended. The line would form in the
interior should the need arise. Alice Springs is building an airbase for USAF squadrons to punish any
move south from Darwin and delay any advance which could split Oz in two. I am still only guessing at his
strategic intentions.

If his LCUs move north from Darwin without the assistance of ships or aircraft, they are going to get very, very, wet! [:'(]

new day: DESRON21-2 ordered to a spot to recon north of Luganville. DESRON21-1 in ambush after upgrades. The last few days I
have been successfully hitting the IJA in central Burma for no losses. I want to intensify the campaign there now. Unfortunately most
convoys are still sans escort even larger "class A" types. I do not want to lose destroyers without significant gain. The last surface
group from the DEI is ordered south. Singapore is a rusty hinge. Note to self, do not allow brigades to be cut off in the initial week.

A quiet day. There is a tanker hit off Hawaii, she should make it. All the other convoys move unmolested.
