Yes, well, Jerry will soon be out of gas (I hope).
Rat Patrols have launched again, out to cut off his supply lines.
In old Cairo, business as usual, but MPs are starting to round up
stragglers who've been entranced by local dancing girls.
<sigh> belly dancers, Hookahs, and the Pyramids ....
Doesn't get much better than that!!

Alexandria is a supply source for the Axis now. Axis supply problems are now in the past.

Not a scratch

Will the Shermans have better luck?
Will I ever GET any Shermans?

Well, the CW is rocking back on its heels,
in a corner and on the ropes.
Here is an interesting German newsreel.
This is what's going on outside Cairo ATM.

Yes, he is (in fits and starts) beginning to push me off the board.
But, I have been getting some pretty beefy reinforce / reconstitute
East ... of Cairo. And that is not much territory there,
but hold it, I must.
Rommel is definitely hell-bent on hemming me up there.
On the bright side, CW is maneuvering for a left hook.
My only concern right now, is that unit that is HEAVY HEAVY Panzer,
I can't seem to put even a scratch in it.
That one unit of his could wreak havoc.

Hurricane 2, flying recon over the raging tank battles west of Cairo, reports:
"THEY GOT 'EM!! I think it was 25s, or maybe the six pounders,
shot 'em right down the SNOUT!!! GIVE 'M HELL BOYS!!! WWOOO WWOOOOOO!"
10 Heavy Panzer, that were making their way toward the Great Pyramids,
ARE BLOWN OUT THE DESERT!!!!

Meanwhile, in Cairo, MPs desperately try to make way for the Valentines,
(200 PLUS, how many tons is that?
(That's a lot of steel.)
through the teeming mobs of desert peoples seeking refuge in Cairo;
and the CAMELS! omg the CAMELS!!!
CAMELS EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Thanks, I've just recently found some of those links,
like the Periscope Films web site,
they have an awesome collection of old news reels I haven't seen before.
And the archive.org I found that I can search out old radio down to the month,
have found some interesting links there. I put a few of those in the FitE1 thread or maybe it was the Russo-German War one.
I really liked that Spike Jones one, "The Feuheres Face" LOL
They really give boost to "atmosphere" when I am playing

@CW turn 196 (Aug. 1, 1942)
The British Valentine Tanks arrive and engage ....
destroying over 100 German Panzers that were headed for the Pyramids from the SW!!
You can't see them here (they are under that Combat Results list)
but many Rat Patrols have made there way around to the rear of this Axis army,
between them and the Wadi Natrun.
The trap is sprung!!
