Another woeful turn. I feel the game - which started well enough - is slipping away.

I think your position is excellent. I won't write why specifically though, because it could be considered as backseat gaming.
One important thing, when playing as Allies, is an appropriate mindset. Up to 1942 you will have few victories and plenty of upsets. But scale of this upsets will set up your position, if Axis doesn't do enough damage, they will succumb. And charts you posted are very telling, is this damage enough.

Thanks for the moral support. I just think I've gone backwards in my Chinese play and the advantages I was seeing in Europe at the start of this game are not being maintained (although as you say I shouldn't have any successes at this point). I've got a few ideas (Axis permitting) so let's see what happens next weekend.

Another poor turn for the Chinese as the Japanese bear down on Chungking.

The South Africans simply can't hurt the Italians in East Africa for some reason (or North Africa for that matter) but I have to stay calm, the income is good at least.

Yet again I appear to have made a total horlicks of the situation. I just can't seem to do with the Japanese what my opponents can all do... so frustrating.

Xue's forces in the south are falling ever further back, while Feng's army group, in the far north, has all but disintegrated. I suspect that Kweichow will quickly fall now and the key will be not losing too many units so that there will be something to form the next defence line.

But a far bigger disaster has befallen the RN in the Med. The British lose their only destroyer flotilla and get their remaining units badly mauled - including my only battle squadron. The Italians lose a heavy cruiser squadron in the process, but I am conscious that most of the fleet - including their BB's - are still at large.

A lot will depend now on how close the rest of the fleet are...

In China I lose another army in the centre. Fortunately I have three replacements - bought cheaply following previous destruction. Feng's forces in the north continue to retreat west so they can at least reinforce.

In the Mediterranean the RN live to fight another day as the RM withdraw. The fleet licks its wounds and heads for port.

In the North Sea a destroyer flotilla stumbles across a u-boat. The Royal Navy - in no mood for Mr nice guy mode - despatch the wolfpack to the depths using all the destroyers and carrier air that they can muster.

The Yugoslavs join the war. I don't spend any MPP on them as the Germans appear to have come fully equipped....

The Germans want Narvik back....

The Germans declare war on the Soviets. The Soviets simply have nothing at this stage of the war. The Germans are just outside Kiev and Minsk already...

The Germans make a concerted effort to get Narvik and so I send some reinforcements - which will hopefully make it.

In East Africa I pull back in order to try and upgrade and reinforce my troops as much as I can.

I advance cautiously in the desert but without flank protection from the navy (and their air support) I suspect it will not go very far.

I keep being told that Mao is not happy with the Japanese. It would be quite nice at this point if he could put his money where his mouth is...

I get the feeling that weather is going to be vital. If it stays like this then there is nothing to stop Moscow falling...

Nothing happening in China. The Japanese must be taking a breather to R+R and upgrade. I don't complain - but just thank the stars and await the onslaught....

In southern Russia - or more accurately the Ukraine - the rain helps stall the attack on the Crimea for a bit longer. But in the north the Germans are closing in on Talinn and in the centre, Moscow is in sight...

The South Africans continue to tool around in East Africa and my units in Narvik couldn't inflict damage on the Germans if they tried. Goodness only knows where the Germans are getting supply from....

Fed up with the Germans being impervious to attack. I try and force the issue by landing an army at Moi Rana with the intention of catching the Germans in a vice. The Germans have no HQ and the corps in the south is out of supply - surely this must be wrapped up quickly?
