Turn 3
6 July 1941
Rail.....
Right, I've made something of a faux pas (that's balls up [:)]) with my rail lines. So...
I have started to get to work with my FBD - only taken me three turns to figure that out. I've done AGN and AGC's two. I will do AGS, and I believe there is a Romanian one, later once combat units have cleared the area.
Essentially my rail lines are a mess as a result, but hey ho. I also want to have a look at my construction units and make sure I have these where they should be and attached to the right HQ.
FBD4 - making a start on the double track to Kaunas. Kids, if you want to play the game then get a grown up to help.

Turn 2
Soviet Response
Army Group South
I am pleased to say there is little to report here. I was really concerned about my panzer regiments strung out before the Soviets. That said, there appears to be an awful lot less Soviets in the pockets than before. Perhaps they were able to slip past?
...
very weak units that are isolated will often surrender in the logistics phase. In general, if you can, bypass the Fortified Zone units and they will collapse in the next turn (saves you the CPP cost of even the most one-sided attack)

That would be nice. Maybe I'll come across some hidden units too.

Turn 3
6 July 1941
Army Group North
So after some enforced leave from the game for real life events, I've returned to what is clearly something of a mess. 18th and 16th Armies are playing catch-up, while PZ4 pushes on toward Pskov.

Turn 3
6 July 1941
Army Group North
With my infantry armies out of the picture and LVI Motorised Corps unable to assist, I push XXXXI Motorised Corps over the River Sorot to try and keep up the pretence that I am going to reach Pskov. Soviet forces are beaten at Ostrov, but the follow up attack to the north is less successful and a regiment of the Totenkopf then runs into trouble when trying to gain the ground won in the battle....

Army Group Centre
There are similar issues for von Bock's men. The infantry are too far behind to assist this turn (in the picture the lead elements of 9th Army can be seen in the south). I try and push on with PZ3 north of the Dvina.
A series of battles are fought to try and clear the route for the push toward Smolensk north of the Dvina. The battles are largely uneventful and only at Polotsk are there any appreciable Soviet casualties.

Turn 3
6 July 1941
Army Group Centre
And the tale of woe is repeated for PZ2 and 4th Army.....but worse as there was no real opportunity to hurt the Soviets. The best that can be said here is that Bobruisk was taken (and the depot there), and two prongs of PZ2 are marching on Mogilev and Orsha. Again, the lead units of the infantry army can just be seen in the extreme southwest...

Turn 3
6 July 1941
Army Group South
In the north of this sector, 6th Army now devoid of any armour support, continues slowly toward Rovno. von Reichenau's forces have succeeded in opening up a route to the city, but again there was only one battle of any note in terms of inflicting casualties on the Soviets.

Turn 3
6 July 1941
Army Group South
First we look at 17th Army and PZ1. There were 25 engagements in this sector. I can't get any new pockets forming, but the existing pockets were eliminated by 17th Army - and these cost the Soviets circa 50,000 men that I could see. Tarnopol and Proskurov were taken - the later being occupied by the 14th Panzer Division. The lead elements of PZ1 have almost linked with XI Corps from 11th Army.

Turn 3
6 July 1941
Army Group South
Finally to the southern end of the front. The plan, such that it is, is that the Romanian 4th Army will advance toward the river crossing, (east of Kishinev), while further north, largely German forces will try and cross at the next road crossing. This has been achieved this turn as the 198th Division, with support from the 1st Romanian Armoured Division created a bridgehead over the Dneistr. The 22nd Airlanding Division then reinforced the crossing point.
To the west, XI Corps sort to attack some Soviet units fleeing from 17th Army. The aim is for XI Corps to head east at the earliest opportunity.

Turn 3
Ground Losses
The German losses were around 12,000 again, compared to a Soviet figure of around 150,000. The Germans lost around 100 tanks compared to the Soviet 1,400. I suspect these aren't brilliant returns... but its better than the other way round.

Turn 3
Air Losses
As before, not much to say on the air losses. I am not influencing these.

Turn 3
Destroyed Units
The destroyed units continue to tick up, but that was the last of the pockets so perhaps won't be rising much going forward....

Two questions please.
I am having major probs with my computer and haven’t been able to play since the end of July. I got an e-mail to say my PBEM has finished and shows as inactive. Is there a time limit before the server thingy ends a game? If so, can it be re-started?
Secondly, totally random, but my computer won’t allow me to put any passwords in - I can’t even log into the Matrix forum. Has anyone ever experienced this sort of nonsense with a Windows 10 PC.

Hello Warspite,
I cannot help for the 1st point - but for what concerns your PC issue I've not got any issue about inserting passwords. But I am not against trying to help you if you are confident enough to do a screen sharing session to see if I can be of assistance. Not making promises of success there - also check if you use some Password Manager software, maybe the reason is there! Or have you tried with another browser? (ie. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc).

Don't use win 10 yet. With that said I think it could be the security settings, or cookies setting. This forum, I think, needs a cookie to be accepted in order to allow password to be processed. Or something to that affect. I can't log in here when my security setting is such that my computer allows no cookies.
So I need to lower my security setting a bit to log in. It is a bit of a pain since I use higher security setting on other sites (youtube, for example).

if I recall there is a time out/game end thing with the server, not sure if its changeable but maybe ask the Matrix support people?

I use "NoScript" and unless I allow the site, I can't log in either.
If it is a new computer, Windows 10S will not allow any programs outside of the Microsoft Store . . .
