on turn 1 when Rundstedt was used for opoint, since he was flipping anyway i think he could have been used for hq support and still reorg before flipping. that slight increase may not have been needed but may have been helpful (and maybe even saved a flip or such?)
or do i have this rule wrong?

(1) From page 77, last paragraph of section
11.16.3. HQ Support (Option 13) from the "Rules as Coded" volume,
"An HQ that successfully provided HQ support becomes disorganized (only if it succeeded in providing HQ support) after advancing after combat (see 11.16.5) regardless of combat result." HQ support using 2D10 CRT is always successfully provided and; therefore, Rundstedt would have flipped after advance after combat.
(2) Flipping after advance was also consistent with the understanding of our teams most experienced players. Also, assuming my memory isn't faulty, I seem to recall learning this lesson the hard way in MWiF years ago. That is, I used a HQ for support that was also used to double and found that he was unavailable for reorg (i.e., he was flipped).
(3) A final point brought by the German player was that Rundstedt was excluded from the assault was to remove the risk of being flipped outright by a poor assault roll, which would have made him unavailable for reorg. In fact, his need for reorg with land units at 1/2 the cost would be the greatest if the German player had rolled poorly.
