Here's some details from the
Orsha area as it's happening right now. My bombers dropped the bridge at Orsha a couple of turns ago to help stiffle any attempt from the Soviets to block that crossing over the river and I don't know if it worked or not until I get a chance to examine what's east of
Orsha and across the river. The supply level is
10 at the front which isn't quite high enough to sustain continuous operations but as soon as I repair the rails a little closer the supply levels will rise slowly. You can see how the weather isn't cooperating very much. It's about
5/10 cloudy with scattered
rain storms so the air support is hit or miss this turn.

It's early in
T8 and I'm in the process of moving my units and I've finally captured some crossings of the
Dneper river and can now pour my units across the river and roll up the Soviet lines over the next several turns. This area is just
NE of the marshes and just east of here is
Bryansk which I'm going to need for the network of rails passing near there. The supply level is
9 at the front in this area which could possibly be a problem over the next several turns. I may have to bring in some more help in repairing rails in this area. Probably from the
Kiev area since the supply levels in that area are in the
mid-20's and can therefore spare some RR engineers for a while. I have lost
5.4K HRS's, there's
33K HRS's assigned and I have
2.4K HRS's on hand. I'm making
428 of them each turn. I've lost
55 Me-109E/F's but there's still
973 of them assigned and I have
80 of them on-hand. My Stuka's sank the
2 Soviet
BB's near
Leningrad but it cost me
41 of my
300+ Stuka's and there's only
14 of them on-hand now. And I'm making only
6 of them per turn. And I still need to do something about the Soviet
BB's near
Sevastopol yet.

This is what it loooks like south of the image above; the
Orsha area. The rails are considerably closer here than the above image and the supply levels are adequate for sustained operations depending on how far you are away from the railhead(s) near here. About
30% of the map is covered in scattered rain but surprisingly not many other kinds of clouds. There's a line of rain squals along the river south of
Orsha which is something I've not seen before [ a solid line of clouds of any minor length ]. I'm still fighting over the crossings here but since I captured two of them south of here there's no need to press this area needlessly. I'll just pour through the crossings I know I have and come up behind the Soviet defenders in this area.

It's now
T8 round 4 and this is the
Pskov area as it's happening right now. I finally forced my way through the city and I'm zooming off in all directions and I'm bringing some Panzers to this spot so I can use them to spearhead a push toward
Leningrad. The supply level is
3 at the front and that's not nearly enough to sustain combat operations. I may have to pause the advance in this area until the supply levels improve. I have a major supply line ( rails ) headed north toward
Narva up at the north end of the peninsula but that doesn't help these folks much. I think I'll see if I can't rake together some RR engineers from somewhere to help out up here. If I have to sacrafice rail repair somewhere else to get going up here it will be worth it for a short period of time. Because without it this advance will have to stop.

It's now early in
T9 and this is the
Gomel area as it's happening right now. I finally forced my way across the river and there just happened to be some nearby forces that I could pour through there and now I have a foothold on the east side of the river which is a very good thing because I was expecting a hard fight to get where I am now. The supply levels in this area is
11 almost everywhere but I'm repairing rails to the west of this area so the levels will rise slowly in future turns. I need to rail some more troops to this spot so I can accellerate the push going
south from here at first and then to the
east when a long line of troops has developed or I arrive at the east side of
Kiev, whichever occurs first.

It's now
mid-movement-phase_T9 and this is the
Orsha area as it's happening right now. I have
7 Panzer divisions actively chewing their way through the Soviet defenders and I'm in the process of trying to get a surround on various Soviet units, and / or stacks of units. I'd like to clear out this area before I try some serious assaults on
Smolensk unless a better solution presents itself in a more obvious manner. The rail has been repaired all the way to
Orsha so now we have one-day express rail service from
Berlin to
Orsha. I've got about a dozen units that are red and I'd like to rail them to
Berlin to rest. Just because I can.

It's now
T9 round 6 and this is the
Kiev area as it's happening right now. I have used my recon units to drive around a group of Soviet units so they should be cut off from their supply source(s) and the takedown of those units should be a tiny bit easier now. I'm hopeing to be able to clear out this group of Soviet units before I assault
Kiev seriously. The rails are repaired close to the front lines so the supply levels are adequate for continous operations. The weather is about
2/10 cloudy and no rain today. I've lost
7.7K HRS's,
31.2K HRS's are assigned, and I have
2.9K HRS's on hand. I should be able to surround the west side of
Kiev in the next couple of turns. Forces north of here are leaping across the river and are pushing south along the east side of the river.

It's now early in
T10 and this is the Pskov area as it's happening right now. I have used my recon units to start a surround on a small group of Soviet units by driving around them so they will be cut off from their supply source(s) to make the takedown of those units a tiny bit easier. I'm hopeing to be able to clear out this group of Soviet units soon. The supply levels are 12 which is almost adequate for continous operations. I'd like to be able to drive east far enough to cut the rails leading to Leningrad to help cut them off from the rest of Russia.

It's now
T10,
2/3 of the units have moved and this is what's happening down south. I'm pouring units across a crossing I captured and just now rebuilt the bridge. I'm going to drive south toward
Odessa so I can get a seige started. I'm going to let the
Odessa takedown be a
Romanian operation and use all the arty that the Romanians have as a backup for them. I'll use the arty to blast my way through the Soviet defenders, one target stack at a time, until the defenders give way and I gain the city. That's the theory.

It's now
T11 round 5 and this is what's happening in the
Smolensk area. The supply level is
17 at the front and that's enough to keep going with the advance. What I like to do is break a hole in the Soviet line and push some units through the hole and surround the defenders and kill them over the course of several turns. My theater recon value is too low to see the invisible Soviet units to the east of those Soviet units that DO show. I need some Special Forces troopers that can do those week-long
LRRP's deep recon in the enemy rear just to snoop around and see what's where. Maybe call in some arty on an ememy basecamp you just happened to be in the right spot to see. Stuff like that. The hard part would be extracting them from trouble without the use of an
HH-60H PaveHawk.

It's now
T12 and this is what's happening in the
Odessa area right now. I've repaired the rail across the river so the supply level is great. I'm about to start the seige of
Odessa proper.

It's now
T12 round 2 and this is what's happening in the
Mogilev area right now. The rails are repaired closely to this area so the supply levels are great. I'm in the process of dissolving a congregation of Soviet units. When they are gone I will continue the press to the east.

This is what's going on down south. The supply level gets down to
9 at the front but I'm repairing a rail line toward this area so it should slowly rise over the next several turns. As you can see the Soviet defenders are sparse and I'm making good progress in this area.

This is what's going on in the
Kiev area right now. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines here and the supply levels are great. I'm in the process of attacking the places where I can get three hexes to impinge on a target hex. I've flown in some extra fighters and bombers to this
AO to help the take down. There are Axis forces north of here that are fighting their way to this location and I expect to be on the east side of
Kiev in about
5 turns or so.

This is what's going on in the
Leningrad area right now. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines but in the middle of the road leading to the city on the east side of the lake the supply level is
9. There are some ports on the west coast that are garrisoned by the Soviets and I'll have to dedicate a division to reduce those but everybody else is pressing to the east toward
Leningrad.

This is what's going on in the
Smolensk area right now. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines and the supply level is
8 on the east side of the river. The Panzers are coming in really handy. A lot of my attacks get some help from aircraft on standby. And the same for defense. The Soviets have started using their aircraft in concert with their land attacks and my air force is coming in really handy as well. Most of my aircraft are yellow and resting at the end of most turns.

This is what's going on in the
Bryansk area right now. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines and the supply level is great. The Panzers are chewing through the Soviet defenders like they weren't a problem at all. You can see places in the image where I just last round destroyed a Soviet unit and now the way forward is clear. I should be in
Bryansk in a couple of turns.
