ARMY GROUP SOUTH THE GERMANS ARE ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF KIEV!

It's now T11 round 1 and this is what it looks like near Kiev right now. The Germans got into my backfield somehow and now I need to reposition all my defenders. I'm not sure I can save any of these guys before the Axis troops get in a position to block my escape. But I've got to try to get away at the very least.

ARMY GROUP SOUTH HAS MOVED ACROSS THE DNIEPER IN FORCE

It's now T12 round 1 and this is what it looks like near Orsha right now. The Axis forces are pushing me backwards and as you can see they have broken through my MLR and there's nothing between his forces and Smolensk. This is very bad news. It's only 30July41 and if Willie keeps up his successful push I expect him to reach Moscow before winter will set in. Probably before the mud season starts. This is also very bad news. I've been careful to blow all the bridges I can and it hasn't seemed to have hampered Willie at all.

It's still T12 round 1 and this is a list of the 167 aircraft squadrons I have right now. There are quite a few squadrons that haven't respawned yet. Those squadrons that have spawned recently are cherry red and need several turns of rest and refit before I can use them in combat. I've sanitized this report by removing the locations of the squadrons because Willie doesn't have a need to know where they are. I usually have quite a few squadrons that are in reorg every turn. And it appears to me that they lapse into reorg at random from turn to turn.

It's still T12 round 1 and this is a partial list of the artillery units that still exist and as you can see I have quite a few units that are cherry red and mellow yellow and most of my formations have units missing from their roster. The newest units are spawning at some of the off-map locations and I have to move them to where I need them to be. I've been moving a lot of them to Moscow where they will rest for about two weeks of game time. As soon as they are green again they get shipped out to the front lines. They usually get destroyed a few turns later. The half-life of one of my infantry units seems to be about two weeks of game time.

It's still T12 round 1 and I haven't moved anybody yet. This is what's going on in the north right now. Willie has completely defeated my defenders on the righhand side of the peninsula leading to Narva. My supposition is that Willie has already gotten some of his units into the Leningrad region on the east side of Narva. If true then I have several defenders that need to reposition real quick. Willie is in the process of destroying my defenders on the west side of the lake. So I've been building another MLR north of the southern group. I've also formed a screen to the SE of the road leading north to Leningrad so that the Axis will be thwarted if they try to do a left-hook.

It's still T12 round 1 and this is what's going on in the middle of the conflict. Willie has done a masterful job of managing his advance and is well ahead of schedule. Fortunately, I have some rough terrain that I can fall back to which may slow down Willie's advance slightly in that zone. Unfortunately in the lower half of this AO there is way too much open terrain for Willie to use for open field running. Almost all the way to Moscow.

It's still T12 round 1 and this is what's going on everywhere else. I believe my biggest problem is where Willie has leaped the Dneper river near Kiev and is now spreading out in my backfield. Fortunately I have several sacrificial units nearby that I can use to form a quick screen to give me more time to rail many more troops to this location. Those units still out in the middle south of Kiev are retreating slowly blowing any bridges they cross as they go. Willie captured Odessa way sooner than I thought he might. I think I might be in trouble.

It's still T12 round 1 and here's some detail of what's going on south of Leningrad right now. Willie has managed to overcome my defenders and they will soon be destroyed. So I've formed a couple of screens further north that may not hold very long either. There are some divisions resting near Leningrad that I may have to activate whether they are ready or not.

It's still T12 round 1 and this is what's going on just north of Leningrad. The Finns have activated after being in garrison mode for so long. They have already broken through in the top part of this image. That means that I need to form a screen quickly to prevent the Finns from rolling up my lines and destroying my defenders.

It's still T12 round 1 and I've been moving units and Willie is breaking through my lines near Orsha. I can't try to back away from the Axis units because that usually ends up with the unit moving only a single hex and going into reorg or rioting and sometimes taking some losses. It's the same for the Axis side as well.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE SOVIETS AIR GROUPS GONE? Larry seems to have placed the entire soviet air force around Moscow for now.

THE VICTORIOUS ARMY GROUP SOUTH Odessa has fallen to the mighty Wehrmacht

It's now T13 round 1 and Willie has broken through my MLR SW of Moscow which is a disaster because now I have a lot of units that I need to reposition real quick and that's not possible so I expect to lose a lot of units in the next several turns. I notice that a lot of the bridges that I dropped are now repaired. I'm wondering if it's time to deploy my air force. I think not because of the vast difference between his air shock and mine [ Axis: 140, Soviet: 80]. This game is starting to get really exciting.
