400 MB file? And Roger is normally so careful with his bytes

The more I read of these threads, the happier I get that I booted the abomination called Windows 98 out of my life some three years ago...
Not to be smug, but guys that system is a complete and utter wreck. Consider to at least switch to W2K so you get rid of the W95 kernel.

Well, like I said KP is the ONLY game I've ever had problems with, with 98, since it came out.
And that's many, many games, in many genres
Meanwhile, I see lots of forums busy with questions about problems with XP, 2000, etc., including lots of people I know
Thanks, but no way am I switching

For me with 98, if it ain't broke.......

Gregor -
I'd be happy to help try to solve the problem.
Unfortunately, I don't have an email address that can handle 400mbs.
Also, I returned KP towards Tron 2.0 the other day. But I left the KP install on my system, assuming I'd probably be buying it again soon, once this problem got fixed.
If nobody else is helping you with this, I could always go buy it again.

I'd like to try a debug .EXE, so I'll need an email address that can take a 400Mb zipped file (i.e. not Hotmail), if you're willing to give this a go.
Gregor
Any chance of this being made available for download instead ?

I don't know of any emails that can take a 400MB file. How about FTP or download?

If it's a debug korsun.exe file only, then I think Gregor might have meant 4 MB, not 400

I'm all with you as well. Installs fine, editor works, needs original cd to play error pops up every time.
Same error. Have latest ATI drivers, latest Motherboard drivers and Bios updated. Tried install defaults, no good, cleaned out registry, no good. Returned original CD and exchanged for another, no good. Updated to the latest version of gameLatest Direct X files and all Service Packs installed. System info below as well as DirectX test files.
Athlon Barton XP 2.5
Windows XP Pro
ATI 8500 LE 64MB DDR graphics card
Gigabyte GA7N400-L mobo
512 MB DDR Ram
What can it be?
Have tried all uninstall/reinstall options, regeditting, getting sick and tired of it after paying $70 for the game.
I'll gladly join in the debugging session, but can't do a 400MB file naturally! Post it on the website somewhere and I'll do it to solve this. Or if the 400MB was a misprint and it's only 4MB my email can handle this. Let me know and I'll send you the address.
So is there a fix in our future

I reported the "black screen after splash videos" problem two weeks ago in a separate thread and I have still not seen any signs of help. Is anyone working on this? If so, I have not been contacted or asked for any information. Since I paid $50 (US) for the game and cannot return it, I expect better support than I have received. My system specs (repeated from previous post) are:
AlienWare System with:
WinXP Pro SP1, Intel 875P Motherboard, 3.2GHz P4, 2GB PC-3200 RAM, NVidia GeForce FX Ultra 5900 (256MB RAM), Creative Audigy 2, Plextor PX-504A DVDR, Samsung SM-352B CDRW/DVD, 120GB ST3120 HD, MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0A USB, NEC MultiSync LCD 2080UX monitor, built-in Intel PRO/1000 CT Network Connection
All drivers are latest (official) versions. I am running DirectX 9.0b (and will supply output of DXDIAG if that helps). I have had no other problems running games including StarWars Galaxies, Age of Wonders: ShadowMagic, IL2 Sturmovik, Dark Age of Camelot, UT2003, Splinter Cell, NWN, and Warcraft III. This is pretty much a state-of-the-art machine (which will probably last about another month before the next iteration of P4's, Graphic Cards, etc) so I can't imagine that the hardware is a problem.
I have attempted (clean) installs from both CD drives with same results.
So PLEASE, can I get some support???

Thanks, David! It is amazing how much goodwill a little direct feedback generates. After bad experiences with SWG support I'm glad to find a company that responds and takes ownership of its problems.

Hi. Its been about 2 weeks since you made this statement. Any progress to report? Alternatively, can you offer a full refund for the game? I bought the game online through your e-store which says all sales are final. Will you make an exception for games that don't work at all on systems that meet minimum requirements?
