No, no, this is NOT OVER, it was a (bad?) joke. You have to magnify the picture to read the little sentence under "the end". I hope I didn't give you a heartbeat...

If there was a Grammy or an Academy Award for what you did you'd win best play-by-play, writing and graphics.
Thank you - that was a lot of effort.
Wow thank you Robert. That's a great comment and I appreciate it! It might have something to do with role-playing, refereeing and conducting a 40 year running D&D campaign and tabletop\monster-size wargame scenarios. Lots of maps and story-lines are made and necessary for deep immersion. That plus I have always loved SC's style of maps. That helps make an AAR such as this a grand spectacle. :D

Simicro threw me through a loop with this 'The End' joke. Was busy AFK with some pressing non-gaming stuff. Popped over to the forum in the middle of my night. Thought the towel was thrown.
Happy to say we are continuing.....

Cheers!

Marianas Sit-Rep: US forces evacuate Rota. American naval elements bombard the southern tip of Saipan and US continue to sweep Tinian.
The entire garrison of Guam is ready. Every one is well stocked and fed...including with captured American equipment from the last invasion attempt.

Of course I am aware that Rota is not in the victory objectives, but I decided to land there for a few turns... just for fun... and in order to... puzzle you! I'm very curious: what was your reaction? Honestly? Well, I confess that landing on Rota costed me a few unit strenght points due to the lack of supply.

What was my reaction? Ordered Major Imagana and the Rota garrison to rip the Marines that landed at Songsong a new one.......

Marianas Sit-Rep
US Battleships continue bombarding an isolated shore battery on the southern tip of Saipan. The shore battery fires back, damaging one of them
There are indications that some US forces loaded onto landing craft at the northern end of Saipan.

Major Imagana and his troops on Rota break out the saki and round up some of the native girls for a small victory party. They continue radio transmissions to Tokyo with updates.

All quiet on Guam as some depleted formations are reinforced.
We are waiting....................

US forces still sweeping Tinian looking for phantoms and bombarding an isolated shore battery on the south tip of Saipan. That shore battery keeps inflicting damage on one of the BBs.
Japanese forces on Guam await to defend the island.
Perhaps the Americans will by-pass Guam entirely, like they have done with many isolated Japanese held islands.......

'I know he knows that I know' -Simicro

Are you sure? :)
I think you may have just entered the twilight zone called the Rumsfeld Matrix:

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know". -Donald Rumsfeld

The garrison on Guam is getting jumpy with anticipation, as radio reports from Rota report they see smoke over the horizon that seems to moving in a SW direction towards Guam.
