Wouldn't a great circle route from SF to Melbourne take them through Japanese held territory? They would have to detour through safe waters?

Summary
Allied AI has advanced beyond Eniwetok, which itself has plenty of supply. SE Asia theater has completely re-conquored Malaya and the PI's have been invaded. (as of the current turn Iwo Jima is also under invasion but not yet captured)
At no front line point is supply in a state of shortage. Interestingly, SF has dipped below the max level but given the ample levels of supply located elsewhere (including the west coast cities....seattle 205745, LA - 318796) and including the biggest supply TF's at sea (over 750,000 supply points at sea not counting smaller supply TF's) I do not see a critical supply shortage being indicated by the current lowered daily supply adjustments.

No, i never indicated that. I mentioned that the AI in the SWpac area appears to have stopped while the SoPac area never seemed to do much of anything....but it wasn't for lack of supplies. I chalk it up to a quirk in AI logic decisions and/or possibly the effects of non-logistical changes i've made in my specific mod (allowing the Japan AI to do a bit better in the Solomons...at least for this particular run). The game saw alot of quirky AI behavior, particularily in the SE asia and China theaters where the AI would conduct large scale offensives, then allow it's other half to retake those objectives due to insufficient garrisoning creating a pengelum effect.
As far as logistics go however, there was never at any point a shortage of supplies from the rear areas. As for this AI/AI game as a whole, comparing it to previous AI only games that i've run to the game's conclusion, (with unaltered supply), there is no substantial difference in the Allied AI's overall progress. In fact the only substantial difference was SE Asia where the Allied AI campaigned all the way back to Singapore, reclaiming the entire Malayan peninsula. Elsewhere the Allied AI is pretty much where it has ended up in the past by mid 45.
