The Axis were surprised that Yugoslavia did not align themselves with the Allies.

The current Yugoslavian position is that the Allied forces are not strong enough to withstand the Axis might. Axis has won every battle of the war at land, and there is no sign that Axis will not continue winning. Yugoslavia see no point in entering the war to just get the same treatment as Poland, Denmark, Netherlands, or Belgium. When not even France could defend itself... The Yugoslav Army is, of course, of excellent quality but not large enough to tangle with the German Army by itself.

Also, CW forces seem overextended, so there is doubt that there will be any aid at all sent to Yugoslavia.

On the other hand, the Axis offence has stalled in Greece, and maybe CW can sweeten the deal... The Yugoslavian position might change swiftly.

You make excellent points. The decision, while on its surface is obvious (let's align Yugoslavia!), is not as simple as it might seem. However, sometimes the most obvious answer is the best. I don't know the answer here. Only time will tell what the Allies decide to do.

I was trying to figure out the advantage of not aligning Yugoslavia, and finally realized: US Entry effects. It costs half a chit to align a minor, and three tenths of a chit for the Axis to declare war on Yugoslavia. So delaying might make some sense, if Yugoslavia is just going to be lost anyway.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

Germany aligns Bulgaria without US Entry effect.

Land actions for Japan and Germany, naval for Italy.

No naval air.

You got it. The abysmal US entry is a major concern for the Allies at this point.

The Axis find with 4 points, select surface, and destroy the CP. I'm sure you will stay so will have to roll subsequent searches in case I find you again without sufficient points to avoid.

The Axis find 4-2 but not enough points to make it a surface. I was sure you would stay so rolled for round II. It was a miss.

Germany pushes units East. Japan pushes some units East in Manchuria. Terauch moves with units to the West in Northern China. Japan shuffles units in the South. Germany rebases bombers southward into Italy and Greece. Italy reorganizes the transport that shuttled the Italian Mech to Libya. Turn sent.
