The morale thing depends on how you look at it. If you expect the Japanese to rally and win a great victory that will force the Allies to sue for peace - you are going to be greatly disappointed.
Unless you're Nemo.
Great game, great reading, and congrats on making it to 1945.

Thank You for this. Well fought and well played. I will certainly miss waking up each morning and checking this AAR. It's weird but some AAR become like old friends, this one one of them, again thanks

Congratulations and a great thank you, Lowpe! [&o]
In my short forum career this has been the AAR, where I was most biased for one side. The way you kept tenaciously resisting and fighting after every setback towards an end, that everyone knew was inevitable was infectious. One kept rooting: “Just defend one more attack!”, and then came the next, and the next. BBfanboy said it nicely: “It was an outstanding last stand that continued for months!” That you made it last that long was great, the way you wrote about it made it better.
For fun I just turned back to 1/1/44 (on page 141). If you look at the state of things, it seems there is little chance of making another year.

Thanks so much everyone...[&o] Most of all thanks to Tiemanj giving me an opportunity to pick up a game and see it to conclusion.
The AAR isn't done yet, I need to hand out awards to the contributors yet.[;)]
Plus, I want to show just how destroyed Japan is.[X(][:D]
If anybody has any particular questions let me know!

What particular strategy would you have done differently that could have extended this game longer?

Great Job Lowpe - so few AARs and games go this far and it is very much to your credit that you hung in there [&o][&o][&o]

Hi Lowpe,
I would like to be the first to welcome you to the Auto Victory 1945 Club. Here is you Smoking jacket (it is literally on fire like most of the rest of the Empire) and a commemorative plaque! As a fellow member I will tell you it is definitely something to be proud of. Very well done!

Well the obvious, I shouldn't have wasted supplies going after rockets! Franks, sigh.
I wish I could have used my KB better, pretty much threw them away.
I wish I would have not defended so far forward around Umboi area.
Losing ships on shore bombardment runs that went bad.
Losing ships to port strikes by heavy bombers.
Not played a scenario 1 game![:D]

Well, after running the first turn how did I make 1944?
Thanks for the kind words.[&o]

The end game is really enjoyable for Japan, I just wish I wasn't running two games at the same time as I think it took a fair bit of the enjoyment away.
I have really treated Jocke like dirt this past week trying to get this game finished.

Thanks, I am glad you had fun.
The game is more fun to me with an active AAR! It was very enjoyable to write and read.
Many thanks.

Thanks Kofiman. 1945 seemed like a bridge too far back in July.[:)]

Congratulations to you both! Its quite an achievement to finish a AE campaign! [&o]
Thanks Jocke, especially for being so patient with our game. Can't thank you enough for letting me concentrate and finish this one off.

Thanks so much for carrying the flag to the end.
I would like a little summation on your R&D efforts
What is your final plane/engine delivery dates for the planes you wanted to produce?
Any advance at all on the jets air-frames and engines? (sorry don't mean to beat the dead horse)
What was left in Harbin?

Well Done, Lowpe.
I am looking forward to see how much Japan is destroyed - I am currently in April 1943 with Japan in Scen1. It is disheartening to see what lays ahead of me, but I would like to put up a fight to the end like you!

Well done indeed.
Can we have a list of important ship losses on both sides? And the (few) capital ships you managed to save, if any? Forgive me, the AAR is really long and I don't rememeber too well what is still floating at the end XD

From the allies (sorted by VP value)
(the CVEs at Kobe upset me... stupid Admiral decided to shortcut his way home. The rest of the losses are on me

)
