Aside from the usual escort moves, CW sends 2 CV and 5 CA/CL to North Atlantic 3-box. 2 CVL, 2 BB and 2 extra CL go to the 0-box. Queens move to Mozambique channel 0-box and load 1st SA Inf. Trans sails from Plymouth to St. Vincent 0-box with Inf.

Allies decline combat in West Med but initiate in Nth Atlantic. Do the Axis wish to engage or skulk about in the deep?

USSR rails a factory from Tula to Tiflis and a Mil from way east to Krasnodar.

The Nationalists stay put. The Communists make some minor moves. USSR continues to retreat in the north but is getting a line together in the South, along the Don. In Manchuria a Cav Div and Inf move up to the front.

A Soviet Ftr and Lnd rebase out of Mukden to ease congestion (stacking limits). CW rebases 2 Lnd to Malta and Ftr-3 to Tripoli.

I assume CW don't send any planes as they have not done before and I move on.

Axis 7, Allies 4. No combat.

Germany rails artillery and INF to Novgorod and MIL to Kharkov. Germany advances few hexes and prepares to destroy surrounded MIL and artillery.

Japan takes resource hex near Vladivostok and adjusts line Manchuria and Korea.

Germany decides not to attack, fine weather for next impulse please.

We discussed Carpet Bombing some (me and my friend) and sort of agreed to not bombard HQs.
By how the game works, it's just silly suddenly a whole zone turns out of supply because you nuked the local HQ (nuked as per strat-bombed via Carpet Bombing).

Given one requires some luck there in the end of the day (to nail 2 units and such) but it is still something pretty crippling.

I've always thought the Soviets possibly vaporized more small-medium sized units with massed Artillery than the USAAF did with their rarely-used-tactically heavy bombers.
