The German army is still surprisingly strong in this game with more then 4000 tanks and 3.3 million men. However, the Russians are in perfect supply and close to 100% TOE.
Raw numbers aren't enough to understand the weakness of german army.
I've lost 80/90+ morale Pzd and 70+ morale Inf Div
Units rebuilt begun with morale at 50 and low experience. CV's are desperatly low

why don't you try Pelton's army or army group reserve activation strategy for your last stand? That is something like the corp hq are removed from the chain of command, and for example 9 inf xx(front line)may get reserve activation from 9 inf regts (second line). Example shows 27 CPs used for army. High initiative and morale army ldr (natch).
Oops posted this in the wrong place, it was meant for Stef, no wonder I lose so many games!!

Another small pocket is formed. A number of HQs are displaced this turn. As a result Ewald von Kleist gets killed. This is the
first confirmed kill of a leader in this game.

What does the VP total stand at? Am I right in thinking that even when Berlin falls you'll still need some extra VPs to reach the 39 VP winning post. Places like Budapest or Vienna?

I think that's right. Stef shows 83 VP at turn 160 in his AAR.

Yes, this is correct as far as I understand it (I never played this far). That's why the offensive in on everywhere. Budapest and Berlin give an extra 5 points because they are capitols.

Yeah, with the Oder crossed north and south there is nothing stopping the Russians.
