Turn 91. Axis. February 12, 1943. Battle of the Atlantic. Murmansk Convoys.

1. German U-boats sink 54 MPPs headed to Russia.
2. RN sinks U-81. [:(]
3. How "easily" the RN was able sink U-81 gives me concern. I'm afraid the Battle of the Atlantic may be shifting to the allies in such a way that German U-boats may become obsolete.

Your subs by this juncture probably should be around tech level 3 at a minimum. That they are still at only 1 is a concern, but they've done a yeoman's amount of work so far (my guess would be costing the Allies around 1000 MPPs so far, many destined for Russia).

But your performance in Russia proper has been pretty astounding-one huge pocket about to be pinched off around Moscow-note that he can't place any new units anywhere without a rail connection to his capital! Which means he probably has a fairly large backlog of unplaceable units in his queue.

But you'll need to effectively finish him off soon, given how weak your Atlantic Wall is currently...

I do have to apologize: I thought all the DEI hexes would flip upon conquest-I may be misremembering an old patch or something... Next time bring along 2 cheapo corps to pawn grab oil wells while your good troops attack the capital.

As you shall see later in the post for my next turn, new research is done for all three axis. Unless you and/or others much more experienced than I advise against not continuing research in specific areas in which case I will.

I wonder if you'll be as surprised as I was when you see the situation around Leningrad and Moscow at the start of my upcoming turn. Only two posts away. [8D]

No apology necessary! Field Marshall Elessar2, veteran of many wars, you are my most treasured advisor. [&o]

2. Don't get me wrong, I'll take both but I'm dumfounded as why my opponent abandoned both these cities?

Turn 92. Axis. March 12, 1943. Battle of the Atlantic. Murmansk (1/2).

2. U-371 & U-35 move east along the Murmansk convoy route in order to put distance between themselves and the RN.
