I watched the A-6's and F-14's doing touch and goes all day long when I was stationed at NAS Oceana, and, of course, all the rest of the crew when I was on The Boat. I almost always worked nights, 7-7, and would spend many hours rubber necking on Vulture's Row in the mornings after work. [:)] It never gets old.

Having spent countless hours sitting back ward in the ass end of the airplane engaged in that exercise (usually referred to as "bouncing" or "crash and dash"), I can assure you that the pleasure was all yours. The pilot loved it , the guy in the back seat , or other , tried desperately for several hours (for P-3's 4 hours was considered the maximum a observer could stand, so we usually did 5-6) NOT to puke. NOT FUN! [:(]

wonder how a non vet, non military person (me) could get a ride.. I am guessing I should look into it...

Nice picture anyways, Jeff. I'm always forgetting my camera at auspicious moments, so don't feel bad about not having it for the P-51 and B-17.

FWIW, We had these guys up here a week or so ago. A regular trio making the airshow circuit. Likely you-a non-vet, non-military person could book a ride for either a 30 min or one hour flight by paying them a lot of money.

Good luck!

Vet or non vet, a LOT of money is generally all that's required to score a ride. [:D]

Early morning tomorrow as I have to take my family to the airport for their 2 week trip to the Turks. Big Daddy has a fantastic new job that he loves, but has not earned any vacation time yet, so I get to stay home and take care of the dogs. Of course, this means at least a turn a day with Torsten in our AE match. [:D]

Party at Mike's house.[:D]

There will be RUM!!!!![:D]

So...do the rubber "crocs" hold up better against the puppies than sneakers? They probably don't taste as good. [:D]

My wife doesn't let me visit these dens of artistic expression so this would be a great way to see them performing their art.

And there are plenty over in Devils Lake and Stump Lake to the West. Then there are the lakes to the North and East.

My old neighbor is up in that area now. A little south, in Kenora. Thus I'm watching his labrador for the week.
