So do you move your entire group of fighters and bombers each turn? How long does it take to build back the bases that are trashed? I'm wary of this as there are just not enough engineers to go around and he pilots must suffer from fatigue and low moral moving around so much. Do you rail a bunch of engineers in, clean it up, and move out, or just hope he can't get to all of the bases before some are built back up with what is there?

Each base has 100-200 engineers. Moving them isn't effective. We shuttle the whole aircraft shabang around every turn or two over about 6-9 bases. We pull back to Rangoon, Pegu and Moulmein, sometimes Chiang Mai and Bangkok to rest and refit (refit usually at Bangkok so we use supply there, not in Burma). We then launch forward onto 2 or more airfields to reduce the risk to counter attack. Repeat.

The AirHQ are kept in Strat mode and shuttle around as well.

Because of the house rules we are using the P-47 can fly at 42k and dive on the Frank at 31k winning at massive odds. We are going to try a lower altitude next turn, around 5-10k so we hopefully avoid the fighters but get the bombers.

Next game I think we would aim to have a house rule to reduce air operations to no higher than 20k for all aircraft.

Layered CAP of Franks at 20k and N1K1 Georges at 41k is about the best Japs can do. In the very best cases I've seen this arrangement getting better than 1:1 kill ratios against Thunderbolt sweeps. All older planes are fodder.

Our planes need a turn to recover in Burma. Unfortunately due to our house rules we can't fly the George at 41k so we will go in low next time.

Here is the situation in Burma.

We are moving forces around to stop from being outflanked, you can see we have already dug in on the main line of resistance which is the jungle of central Burma, but don't want to give up our main airfields yet... plus they have nice forts!

Supplies are tight, more is on the way.

West DEI/Indian Ocean

We have built up a nice string of airbases on the reverse slope (except Tavoy) from the enemies likley advance.

Sabang is now lvl 6 afld, 5 forts and 450AV.

We were using Victoria Point as our main forward airbase, but have had to pull back due to the mining. If we loose the central Burma airfields then Bangkok will be threatened.

We have a string of other decent airfields in Malaya, and have alreday dug level 3-4 forts down the peninsula. Thailand though is not as well prepared.

East DEI

Andrew is slowly inching forward via Groote Eylandt... or is he sticking his head into the noose of surrounding bases?

Samulaki is the cork in the bottle and is shaping up into a nice base...

We have alreday dug in the line behind, Manakowari, Boela, Ambon and Kendari.

The line behind is planned but not started. Will go Sorong- Ternate- Manado.

Air production

Things are going well, we have had to throttle back production to try and save some Heavy Industry. Engines are all in a slight surplus to meet the production.

Industry

I think we are behind on saving Heavy Industry, otherwise the econmoy is going Ok considering how much aircraft R&D we have done!

Being very selective with ships, lots turned off... accelerating a CV at a time. Next one due in about 5 days.
