Allied intelligence are thrown into total confusion when the Italian Heavy Cruisers San Giorgio and Trieste, which for the last couple of weeks had been reported as docked at Leghorn, suddenly appear back with the main fleet at La Spezia.

A bitter round of accusation and counter-accusation, blame and counter-blame followed. Fears of some sort of secret teleportation or cloaking device ("Weren't the Americans rumoured to be working on something like that up in Philadelphia?") abounded. The fears were partly assuaged when stage hands from the London School of Comic Opera demonstrated how an elaborate hoax might be perpetuated using liberal amounts of camouflage netting (once they could find it), stage paint, wood and canvas mock-ups and spoof radio signals.

"We've been made to look complete fools" a General prominent in the intelligence community was heard to remark.

"But we remain intelligent fools, sir" a Staff Captain chipped in helpfully.

A withering stare from the Brigadier (demotions were coming thick and fast) indicated this hadn't been one of the Captain's most career enhancing (or indeed intelligent) of remarks. It was no surprise the next day when the Lieutenant found new orders posting him to XIII Pioneer Corps, 19th Latrine Maintenance Platoon, based in the deepest, blackest hole of Calcutta.

It annoys me somewhat to see the two cruisers in Leghorn when they really should be in La Spezia.

Would it be possible to edit the file so that they are moved to La Spezia? Without to much work and without compromising the game.

Didn't Courtenay manage to use the de-bugger for us once?
I am on vacation, using other people's computers. No MWiF.

Thank you, AllenK, for fixing this. It has bothered me since we restarted the game.

Thank you. [&o]

Impulse: 6 (Axis)

Naval Combat (cont):
I will answer no on the basis that there are too many defenders around.

Strategic Bombing: None
Ground Strike:
Japan

The Japanese order ground strikes against Chinese army units in Chengchow using their naval air arm.

Not to be outdone the army air force are ordered to strike against Mao's forces guarding the eastern approaches to the Tsinling Mountains northwest of Nanyang.

That's ridiculous. Note to Allied Forces (China) I confirm that I am embarrassed to have thrown that on a ground strike with a 3-strength bomber

Italian TERR moves SW into Kenya. And the Italian TERR in Tunisia moves West into Algeria and enter Bone.

In Southern China the Japanese slowly moves westwards. In the North the Japanese Special Naval Landing Force tries to outflank the Communists from the North. The other Japanese forces in the North concentrate on Chengchow.

Japan attacks Chengchow with all available forces, including the HQ. No additional support.

Yes, please.

On a 2, the intercept succeeds. The task force decides to stay in the 4-box.

France sends CA to St Vincent 4-box and CP to the 0-box from Morocco. I decline the intercepts. CA also sails from Syria to East Med 4-box.

Allies decline naval combat. Do the Italians want a go?

CW shuffles a GARR and MECH around at the front and Wavell moves 4 hexes NE in France.

Harrow flies air reorg mission to Calais. Germans can intercept with Bf-110. CW can counter-intercept with Gladiator. Do the Germans wish to contest?

If the Gladiator is the same rating as the Me-110 then yes. Given the choice the Germans target the fighter first. If it survives the Me-110 returns to the same hex. Thank-you.
