T162 - Arad
Arad is occupied and the Polish Tank Corps breaks through. But he is bringing lots of reinforcements into this sector.

Only the Heavy Urban hex of Berlin remains. But I still need some VP to end the game. Prague or Budapest.

T164 - Berlin
The final battle for Berlin. A battle for the record books although the artillery numbers could easily be exceeded. The losses for the Russians just illustrate one of the problems with this game. They are just way too low. Historically the Russians had casualties of 100,000 men if I remember correctly.

The attack on Berlin was with 18 rifle corps plus artillery divisions and some support units? Hmmm, I wonder if you could get a million men in the attack with offensive reserves. In any case, the Germans were just a bit outnumbered, 700K to 20K.

T165 - Prague
Capturing Prague is simply not an option at this point. It's a heavy urban hex protected by a river and well guarded. Instead my tanks push in the direction of Brunn and encircle the entire norther Axis army.

Likewise with Budapest. I am not going to be able to just march into the city. Instead I opt to bypass the city and cut the rail lines supplying the Carpathian mountains.

T166 - Prague
I wasn't able to capture Prague and need one more turn to finish this campaign. There are just too many troops in an around Prague and my infantry is too far away. I tried hard though.

T166 - Surrender
The behavior of Axis' units is now very different. They are now surrendering in droves even so they are not isolated.

Congratulations on both your victory and your great AAR. You've done an excellent job in both. Thanks for all your pics and commentary.

awesome ... [;)]
and you didn't quite manage that 10 million man army backed by over 200,000 guns that I was hoping you'd create.
Great experience to follow in both your threads ... one thing you have convinced me off is the advantage of lots of artillery with the Soviets -- if all else fails blow it up seems like a good approach to follow

First of all it is nice to see Kirponos survive the war and get promoted to Marshal almost at the end of the campaign. But why is there German upgrade information in the Russian log file? Has anyone else noticed this?
