This reminds me I need to make sure the countries are battle generator ready.

Campaign Series Vietnam: BETA OOB Data. With the help of Enocm McKbeer, the Australians are getting an accuracy improvement. With his guidance we are adding the historic organizations as they were in Vietnam, so they are scenario designer ready! Exciting times! Thank you Enocm!

Since last posted, there has been new information coming from Encom McKbeer which is providing greater detail! Look at the breakdown for 1969 for the ATF!

Campaign Series Vietnam: ALPHA graphics. Here is the latest update of the III Corps area master map. For the Australian fans, this will look very familiar. I've had to expand the master map by 60 hexes to the east to encompass the new area.

Campaign Series Vietnam: ALPHA graphics. Binh Gia Battlefield. Late December1964, the Viet Cong 271st Regiment attacked the village of Binh Gia and prepared for a set piece battle against ARVN reinforcements. The battle lasted a few day which involved a variety of ARVN forces, including Rangers, Marines and Airborne. The piecemeal approach of the ARVN forces lead to a large number of casualties.

Campaign Series Vietnam: ALPHA graphics. What is a Vietnam wargame without some scenarios regarding Dien Bien Phu? Here is a screenshot the 7th scenario in the series created by David Galster. There may be a total of 10 different scenarios that cover Dien Bien Phu, each portraying key events.

Jason,
It looks beautiful. The counters are stunning.
Not sure I like the toolbar and map. Nor have I ever liked supply counters themselves.
But, this does look nice.

That's the scenario editor, not in the main game.
Supply counters will be playing an important role in the game.
You can gain or lose supply, plus gain Event Points for their destruction.

Oh yes, and it is a night scenario, so those are the night graphics in the background for the map.

FWIW, those counters are way too busy for my tastes...I much prefer a solid-color background and simple unit graphic/silhouette or NATO symbols.

We also have the NATO counters, of course!

Copy that. It's been a while since I've looked at a scenario design toolbar. [8|]
Love the counters and they are not too busy for me. Plus, the NATO counters look great too.
I'm not a fan of supply units because they really "feel"/are unneeded in this game scale. I know the "Team" thinks they are essential. I'm just not a fan. Six minutes of ammo and I hope I am humping it, for each turn. [;)]

Understood, of course. I really like what Petri has done with the counters, I'm a big fan! I don't mind the 3D icons on them, it helps when doing some planning.
In some cases, the supply and/or artillery ammo level will decrease every turn by a few points, so capturing one would be an added bonus to make sure your units maintain good supply. This is done with the new Lua scripting that's part of the series.
Or.. capturing the opposing supply unit will reduce your opponents supply and/or artillery ammo level.

Definitely not a fan of on map supply. Not sure what my reaction will be if I purchase the game.
We'll see.

A bit OT on this thread, but it will be extremely interesting to see how you handle this one. You devs (better than I) know of the odds of even seeing the VC, no less the rarity of actual toe-to-toe battles. Even during Tet and Mini-Tet they were elusive.
(During a hot-and-heavy fight in Cholon suburb of Saigon May 7, 1968, parts of several line companies of the 9th Div attacked some buildings three times; the third time after several air/arty missions. Eight dead VC (later inflated to 80) and two U.S. fatalities. This is no news to anyone who served in combat or has read any of Keith Nolan's books, etc.)
So I'm just waiting with anticipation. Buying the game is a no-brainer no matter how you handle it. As a reference, I have found the Tiller Squad battles Nam games a little boring. [;)]

There's a draft list of 145 scenarios that are all battalion sized engagments (or larger) that we're hoping to include in the 1.00 release. (Not sure if all will be included, but defintely making a concerted effort)
These span between 1948-1979 and involve the various nations in the theatre.
You'll be pleasantly surprised by the variations in battles and battle types.

I'm hoping that you'll see the validity of the units and their use in this conflict.
