A briefing room in Kandy house:

Admiral Lord Sprior (Our hero): Good afternoon gentlemen, I have some news. We will soon be launching 3 ambitious projects to turf Johny Jap out of Burma. In order to do that we need to learn a new word and that word is co-operation. That means working with others, inter-service work. Have we got that?

Voice from the back: So, what about the crabs and pongoes?

Greenies mess, HMS Repulse:

Chalky: Did you hear the buzz from the bunting tossers?
Buster: Yea, no more Oz for us. Them Ozzy bints go like trains, they love counterpane hurdling. Last one though I had to get off at Fratton.

Admiral Lord SPrior
12th Grand Poobah of Ceylon
International Sitar Grandmaster
Kandy House, Ceylon

Dear Admiral Massa Sahib Grand Poohbar Sir,

you may or may not be aware that these is a number of readers of this world's worst AAR that
have been priviledged to not having personal contact to the Royal Navy (and their lesser ranks in particular).

Your last posting is just beyond understanding for a mere barbarian like me - would you please provide another lesson on jackspeak
for the remaining audience of this report on WW(c)?

yours sincerely,

Ghengis Khan

tyrant, destroyer of empires, ruler of the known world, etc......

I work for a certain federal taxing authority that will go unnamed.  We are decidely unpopular people and I are seldom invited to parties among civilized folk.  However, within our less than esteemed organization, there is one group that is decidely less popular than us as a whole.  It is the IT mavens.  The frustration lain upon us by IT led to a recent vote.  We decided unanimously to reinstitute the Roman punishment practice of DECIMATION regarding IT types that cause prolems like the one express by our dear Captain.  Now, every time I walk by one of those scraggely lot, waddling slowly down the hall in their cutoffs and sandles, I mutter decimation and dream of the moment every tenth one goes over the edge for the latest screw up.

Here's my stab from the peanut gallery:

Greenies mess, HMS Repulse:

Chalky: I say-did either of you fellow seamen hear the latest scuttlebutt? I heard something from our esteemed officer fellows.

Buster: Yes. I heard that we will be departing the nation continent of Australia. Their women have been most exceptionally friendly and forthcoming. Some are even affectionate. Golly! There was one that kept wanting me to [censored] her! With a [censored] too! Finally, I bade my leave and returned to our ship.

At a party, somewhere in the Orkneys:

A Doctor: Oh hello, I'm having a bit of a problem with my computer, could you give me some advice?

Me: My left knee is hurting a bit, would you mind taking a look?

Doctor: Oh.

I bet you guys hate getting IT questions at parties.[:)] Still, I wager no partygoer has offered to show you a body part and ask for advice.....well...on second thought...I am not really that familiar with English customs.

Look at it this way. It could be worse. I'm sure "revenue agents" are WAAAY above lawyers and congressmen. [:D]

Say...I just thought of something. You know when I was decsribing my return as a "work of fiction"....you do know that was a gag.....right?

I hope you remembered to claim the insurance premiums for the policy on HOA penalty coverage as a "cost of living" expense!

Bunting Tossers are signalmen

Getting off at Fratton - Fratton is the last stop on the train on the London to Portsmouth line before you get to Portsmouth. Hence if you get off at Fratton you din't quite finish the, er, business. Coitus Interuptus.

IT Guy (XX): Oh, didn't you see the email. We "updated".

In IT speak "updated" means anything we want it to mean. Normally it means I wrote something in the call notes something along the lines of "awaiting 3rd party support", "no progress yet" or "called user and got no response".

Of course I don't do end user support.
