How did the axis lose more guns than the Soviets? Weird.

More surrendered units -- at least so I surmise from the POW count. That should account for the majority of gun losses.

I wish I knew. But I'm pretty sure that at least half of those attacks were against security regiments that were placed in front of me to delay my advance. Security regiments almost never route and can be attack multiple times during a turn. They are one of the reasons why morale and experience simply exploded in late 43 and at the beginning of 44.
