Apart from the usual escort moves, CW sends 2 CV back to UK to replenish air groups. Hermes sails to Biscay 0-box. 2 CV, 3 BB and 2 CA sail to West Med. I decline the Italian intercept and they settle in the 4-box. Trans from Gib sails to East Coast and loads Canadian Mot from the 1-box. 2 CL, 1 loaded with Inf Div sail to West Med from Tunisia. Do the Italians wish to intercept?

Again, the Italians spot smoke on the horizon but are unable to close the range (3 rolled). The 'empty' CL stays in the 4-box while the loaded one sails to Malta.

A sub sails from Plymouth to West Med 1-box and a Trans brings a Spitfire 1 to Gibraltar.

The French fleet takes up positions in the West Med 2-box (1 BB) and 4-box and the East Med 3-box.

First up the West Med.

CW disorganises a CL from the 0-box. No air-support is added.

Germany can get He115 to 2-box and Me110 and/or condor to 1-box. Do any want to fly?

Searches Allies 1, Axis 6.

Allies go for surface combat and use surprise to reduce losses to No Effect and increase damage to 2X, 2A. I put the first X on CA Arbruzzi as it had the lower Nav factor. On a 7 it survived. Do you wish the second X to go on the Arbruzzi or the other CA?

Sink the damaged. Abort to La Spezia.

To buy time for the Trieste to escape, the damaged cruiser sails towards a CV in an attempt to ram. All guns are turned on the ship although, on a 9, most of the broadsides miss. Enough strike home to finish her off, allowing the Trieste to abort back to La Spezia (rolled a 5).

To the East Med. A Greek CL initiates the searching. No Allied air support. Italians can get the Gabbiano to the 1-box, Erone to the 2-box and Macchi to the 0-box. Do they want to fly?

If there are no CW planes Erone will fly box 2. Ohterwise I do it next impulse.

No Allied planes, so the Erone flies to the 2-box.

Searches of Allies 6 and Axis 7 draw a blank.

Finally, the Italian Coast. A CW sub starts the searching. No extra Allied air support. Germany can fly Condor and He115 to the 2-box and Me110 to the 1-box. Any takers?

Same for the Italians? The 3 Navs could get to the 2-box, while the 2 Ftr's the 1-box.

The X is placed on CA San Giorgio. It rolls a 10 and survives. Where do the Italians wish to place the D?

The French Potez flies to the hex SW of Paris, while the 105mm attempts the hex east of its position. Does the Luftwaffe wish to intercept the Potez, 3 available?

Front fighter E-7. Second fighter F-1. Abort when bomber is aborted or destroyed. Both land where they started.

The Potez clears through, while the leading LW fighter is destroyed. The remaining Ftr aborts.
