Gibraltar

It looks as if the entire Spanish Army is taking part in this bloody siege. Perhaps I should be going through some pains to help my ally, Great Britain, but Ottoman forces are just too busy right now.

Russia

All forces have reached their respective winter camps. There is no sign of the Russian Army coming out for some winter action-so it is time for winter sports.

Strategic Map

Russian forces are still in Moscow, but are not shown here. The Spanish are not actually in North Africa, but Gibraltar. The Ottoman 1st Army is broken down into corps in an effort to save some money.

Great Britain is still at war with Sweden, Spain and Russia.

Glory

Ever greater heights are achieved...

Another round of important provincial improvements have been completed.

Russian Army

The Russian Army is still holed up in Moscow. Notice the current construction in Moscow-walls.

We have just completed the August 1811 turn. This AAR is 6 turns behind now-it will be made current next week. There was one little surprise shift in the action-nothing decisive yet.

Glory

The glory standings are holding the same pattern. Austria is gaining on Russia and France is gaining on Sweden. Austria should be moving up soon. The current Ottoman policy calls for a strong Austria-or one that can survive anyway. In the last great war with France, the Ottoman Empire and Russia its manpower was drastically reduced. It still has not recovered. Many of its divisions are still far under strength. Loosing supply in the Russian winter did not help matters.

We can see most (cropping oops) of the national resource stocks. Note that Austria's manpower is only 3 points more than Sweden.

Now that winter is approaching its end it is time to start moving north for the next campaign. The 2nd Army is going to make one short trip back into the Homeland to Besserabia) so some divisions can receive upgrades.

Battle Reports

King Iron Warrior is still hammering away at Gibraltar. Spain's losses have been terrific-but it continues the assault.

Prussia is having a hard time on its home front these days.

Glory

Ottoman glory continues to advance more rapidly than Great Britain's. How will that ever be stopped?

Another court is completed. Although there is no 'waste" at this time, the Sultan wishes to avoid that painful situation in the event that the Empire has another growth spurt.

Glory Adjustments

This is a fairly typical monthly increase for the Ottoman Empire at this time. The luxury consumption is a bit on the high side-normally its six or 4. Use of textiles drives it down.

Culture

France has moved into the second place in culture. Although it looks to be even, France's culture rating is based on French provinces-it belongs to France. Austria's partially comes from occupied Russia-as does the Otto Empire's.

Economy

Trade and merchant income has slightly increased. The level 7 port/docks in Istanbul helped in that situation.

Taxes will be further reduced to spur production-primarily of textiles. It is desired to increase exports now as there is significant surplus being produced.

Spain is wearing down the British in Gibraltar, but at a huge cost.

there were some silly protest's in a couple locations in the Empire-those were properly dealt with.

Austria has slipped past Russia in glory.

Russian Campaign

The plan for the 1811 campaign was designed to force the Czar to move out of his bastion in Moscow to defend his Empire. The method to force this was the capture of every major city. The primary target was St Petersburg.

If Russian forces did move out of Moscow, then battle/battles would be joined.

Ottoman forces would initially move towards Moscow again-then speed march north. Supply was to be maintained from Austrian bases.

Nearly the entire French Army is encamped near Paris. The rather impressive French Fleet is nearby. This setting cannot be comforting to King Kingmaker of Great Britain.

Glory Standings

Positions are the same this month.

A healthy number of provincial improvements have been completed. These projects are easier to afford than in the past, but are still very expensive and a burden. However, those must be continued.

Culture

Great Britain has jumped into second place with culture gained form its operations in Russia. I have not noted any pillaging by the British, so most of these gains are just temporary-unless the war goes on for another 4 years.
