Interestingly a few developments I was late home yesterday so did the turn while drunk fortuanately no ramifications of that little problem as yet.
PZB tried another attack on the Katha line but he got nowhere as 20th Indian Div had rotated into the fight - he took 3x my casualties and with 20th and soon 23rd Indian Divs coming onto the line I can rotate some of the depleted units back to India to rebuild.
Jap paras took Kalameyo which is fine I will retake it in a few days 7th Aus Div is not far away and a few paras will not hold off the Aussies for long.
Overall Burma is stable.

If I can neutralise KB for a few months by even an even Carrier Battle PZB won't know whats hit him.
I have troops prepped and amphibs arriving every day now as soon as KB is even temporarily pushed back I can go for him
All thats delaying me is Fleet in Being of KB.
I have 2 or 3 to 1 adv in surface assets and probably 6 to 5 in carrier air and I will only get stronger from here on out.
I want and need a carrier battle preferably close to Pearl so my cripples make it home...

Japanese did well on sweeps today but he insists on bombing protected air fields...
Un armoured bombers meet Mrs 3.7" AA Gun and Mr 40mm Bofors....
He can bomb my AF's but unless he saturates my defences or I overstack I dont think the return he gets is worth it...
I shot down 4 Sallies today with Flack he torched 3 C47's - in 42/43 AA Regts are the allies saviour in the air war makes it hard to mount an effective air attack on main allied AF's
oh tactically can hit them and if a juicy target like B17's are around fair enough.
But a long term suppression campaighn againt inland air bases protected by 3 - 5 AA units is a tough thing for the japanese to come out ahead on.

OK another quiet turn not a lot to say my AA Regts stop Japanese domination of the air.
I could fight it out but little point having gotten his attention I need to focus on keeping my flanking positions to give me the ability to flank later on
Thats why 14th Indian and 39th Burma Div are covering the main Bur Corps flanks
I am reorganising the allied air forces again
India will get B17E's, B25Charlies and some A29's for search duties
Australia will get B25D's A20's and B24D's and D1's as well as B17E's
Centpac wont get much until I get a foothold in the Gilberts

Just a note on my Burma strategy all I wanted to really achieve was to get his attention onto Burma (sucess be carefull what you wish for)
I have about 4 Divs holding down c 10 Japanese ones slowing his defensive build up elsewhere
The second objective was to hold as many bases along the Assam Burma border as I can.
Building the infrastructure in these bases now even if I later lose them is a huge bonus to my supply net when the time comes to attack seriously
No one in the Allied Army wanted to retake Burma ocverland - it was the last resort after it was clear the amphibs were not going to be available and was exploiting the failure of the Japanese attack on India
Now I am building infrastructure to improve my supply net (and I am suceeding) when I retake kalameyo and have other bases built up its all to the good getting ready for 44.
PZB will have some tricky choices to make when I go ont he attack seriously.
Remember
Sitting at Madras quietly preparing I have
2nd British Div
9th Australian Div
19th 25th and 26th Indian Divs
at about 80% readiness I have 7th and 9th Indian Divs
in 17 days a convoy arrives with enough M3's to bring 254th and 50th Tank up to strength and 268th Motorised Bde has just arrived.
In the not to distant future I get 11th East African and 5th Indian Divs and in theatere reserve ready to pull back is 6th Aus Div
PZB is bleeding his counterattack force white in the Jungles of Burma all the time my main strike force is quietly sitting away training.
Add it all up and I have 2 Australian Divs, 1 British Div, 1 Middle Eastern TOE Indian Div, 5 lighter TOE Indian Divs an African Inf Div and a pretty strong Amroured Div of 2 Tank and 1 Motorised Infantry Bde Groups plus Corps and Army reserves
De facto PZB is bleeding white on a slightly reinfoced Bur Corps had he destroyed it in early 42 I would have been having to use my strikeforce to achieve this
So 10 Infantry and 1 Armoured Divs sitting tight prepping waiting for KB to be destroyed and my amphib assets to arrive ready for the last phase of Hydra....
I will add to that force 1 or 2 Divs with experience of Jungle fighting off of the Burma front.
Now the penaly I pay for all this is that its going to be the reconstituted 8th Australian Div backed by some pretty green US Divs that lead the fight on New Guinea.
I wont have the AIF to carry the weight early on but thats a risk I have decided to take

A lot of the casualties I have taken on the Katha line so far have been spread amongst units such as the 32nd US Div ( a shadow of itself onow with less than a Bn of Infantry un disabled) or indpt bdes that cannot stand attritional fights
I am not going to rebuild all the Bdes to expensive in devices what I will do is whn the empty cadre of 11th Indian Div arrives in about 80 days (I disbanded it to release its guns a shile back) I will probably disband a few shattered Bdes and use the equipment to either provide reservs for the 11th or to rebuild that Div.
Its a bit of a pipe dream but I would rrather have 1 x Div than 5 x Bdes so disbandintg a few shattered 40 or 50% Bdes to give a boost to rebuilding another Indian Div is a chouice I am willing to make it can always sit at Delhi rebuilding and if I place to many demands on my Indian pools I can always re cannibalise it again !!!

Isn't his attempt to attack you a warning of what could await your superior force when it's your turn to battle the jungles though?

I aint planning on taking the jungle route so I aint to bothered....
32nd when it breaks contact will be battle ready in 2 - 3 months max.
The devices are disabled not destroyed.
I may have to fly them back to India but apart from that they will be fine

No worries glad you like -
I am turnless in both my games tonight so going to talk about the next operation after my little fake out at Palmyra I am going for it for real in a few weeks
I am more or less just waiting on Victorious, Indomitable and Hermes to arrive.
When they do I will attack in force and take it from there
