So...great and all powerfull Thread™ how does one eat Jelly Belly's?
There are some really sick flavours in that mixed bag from Costco....I have discovered that hot buttered popcorn flavour does not make a nice Jelly Belly.
How does one avoid the vomit flavoured ones?
Buttered popcorn is OK. Licorice is nasty.

Can The Thread catch up with Terminus???[X(]
The World Wonders...
Just a few weeks ago, Terminus zoomed by 9000 posts and zoomed past The Thread's post count. However, constant matriculation has slowed poor Terminus, and The Thread is catching back up...

Has anyone noticed any difference in internet service lately?
Things have been dreadful both at work and at home - slowing to a crawl when it moves at all...
i suspect local conditions, but i was wondering if anyone else is having problems (i.e. - is something going on, such as the systematic Chinese hacker attack of a few years ago...)

All that spying must be taking a lot of bandwidth. [:D]

Actually I don't know, I've never seen the show. I hope they never cancel it though, it's way too much fun to make fun of.

At this point, it not infrequently takes 4-5 attempts to send a message, whether i am at work (fighting the firewall) or at home. Trying to load any site (including Matrix) also can take multiple attempts. Trying to send a turn can take hours, as the files will not attach (times out after a "few" minutes...) Generally, i will have to wait until after 11 pm to send a file successfully. Since i get up pretty early, this is not an optimal solution...

wireless DSL broadband...
problem is, aside from dialup (which would cause multiple other problems i'm not going to try to explain right now), there IS no other service provider... yet.
i am hoping there will be soon (the phone ran a fiberoptic cable through the front part of my yard, although apparently the line isn't complete yet...)
Of course, there is a totally different ISP at work - one (i.e.: our associated company) apparently dedicated to stamping out all internet use (even vital data transmission at times...[X(][8|][:'(])

Obviously, from people's comment here, the Internet is not experiencing any find of generalized slowdown... local entropic conditions apparently pertain![:D]

I highly recommend checking into cable broad band service, if it's available. Ours is lightening fast and several factors better than any DSL service I have seen in town. It's better than the fractional T1 I have at work and it's incredibly reliable.

Not available (no cable in area!![X(]).
The area i live in although maybe 20 miles (as bird flies) from the center of Dallas, is pretty rural although developing at an incredible rate (i.e., they just finished building one large shopping center, and are building 4-5 more shopping centers just past the end of the road i live on. There are maybe dozen or so smaller areas under development within 1 mile of these new shopping centers. There was one large shopping center there before we moved in (2 years ago). Apparently, 4 years ago, these areas were all pastured (well, until 12 months ago MOST of it was pasture.)
