It's really put a crimp, however, on Walkabouts by the aboriginals.
or Jenny Agutter
you didn't really expect us to know what you were talking about, did you? [:)]

Who said AARs were lacking in cultural sophistication?

No turn yet....so I start goofing around with Scourge of War (a Civil War game). SG Jr. (11 year old version) is watching.
SG Jr(11): Are you the blue guys?
FAM: Yes.
SG Jr(11): They are getting killed. <she is actually right..a NY regiment has advanced to an exposed position in a wheat field and is being mown down>
FAM: That's why they earn the big bucks.
SG Jr(11): How much did they make?
FAM: Not very much. They were probably Irish.
SG Jr(11): Well, they sure are getting killed. Haha. <I think this was meant to be a critique on me> Hey, what is that buidling?
FAM: A barn probably. Farmer Jones' barn
SG Jr(11): Ohhhhhhhh, are the animals getting hurt? <now suddenly empathetic when mere seconds ago the wholesale slaughter of Irishmen was an amusement>
FAM: No, all the animals are at the Gettysburg pound.
SG Jr(11): What about those horses?
FAM: Well, yes, I forgot about the horses. Those are the commanders riding them.
SG Jr(11): Why don't you just shoot the commanders then the other guys won't know what to do.
FAM: Hey! That is pretty damn smart. I'm gonna tell your teacher to put you in GATE.
SG Jr(11): <smiles>..... <few minutes later...the good guys win...a picture of a particualrly craggy and war weary Lincoln pops up> OH MAN! HE IS UGLY!
FAM: You think that's bad you should see his wife. <googles Mary Todd Lincoln>
SG Jr(11): OH MAN! <mirthmaking ensues> Hey, have you ever noticed ugly people marry ugly people?
FAM: <now, I recognize immediately this is a unique moment for a life-lesson on love and devotion for the true person inside, not just physical beauty> Well, yeah, usually that is true, but sometimes a beautiful person will marry an ugly person.
SG Jr(11): Why?
FAM: Because the ugly person has lots of money.

FAM: <temporary brain overload> I'm sorry. I think I would have remembered that.
Mrs. Nguyen No, no. I fak you. I fak you last night at work.
FAM: <understanding starts to creep in> Ohhhhhhhh, a fax?
Mrs. Nguyen Yeah, yeah. I need fak today.
FAM: Good, well I have the staff get it for me. We'll send it over Mrs. Nguyen (not real name).........

But is your hair immaculate and do you have a really good tailor? [allusion to the great song "Werewolf in London" by Zevon someone].

Philistine. His hair was "perfect", not "immaculate". We're not talking about Liberace or Alan Thicke here. [:'(]

Thanks for the correction Poultry Kid. Been a while since I heard the song. I'm an old wolf [Boy Scout Leader] who is getting a bit "long in the tooth".

Wow! I just bought the game in September and started reading the AAR for some tips. I picked this one because it sounded like someone might have a sense of humor (Bring me the head of Diego Garcia!) Little did I know.... Absolutely hilarious!
Just finished catching up this morning, and had to join the forum so I could throw in my 1-1/2 cents worth once in awhile.

Must have misread. I have it good authority that this is the world's worst AAR!
