Ah, now it looks as though something did go slightly adrift as I have run out of die rolls and still have units left to do, which didn't happen last night.
Carrying on. Eleventh

All together or one at a time?
Since Warspite1 seems to be away at the moment I am taking this one.
All the SCS go together and go to Dakar. (Senegal is now Free French, right?)
The submarine go to Beirut.

The flight of the French navy.
The French surface ships flee the port of Marseilles into the West Med. Italian CA Zara is detailed to intercept them. In a hopeless confusion of signals, the cruiser heads off on the reciprocal bearing. By the time the mistake is realised, the French ships are long gone and safely heading to Dakar (9 rolled).
The sub sails to Beirut without incident.

No Partisans.
US place one entry chit in the Japanese pool.
US starts Chinese aircraft production and give destroyers to CW. One entry chit is moved to the German tension pool.

Maybe the inclusion of the Polish destroyer prevents Germany from getting no surprise point at all.
Poland and Germany were already at war before the second impulse
Best regards
ORIGINAL: Orm
I am, however, wondering why the German ships did not suffer from the surprise effects?! [&:] [:(]

The Polish Destroyers were ordered to reinforce the French Fleet in the Baltic Sea but they took upon themselves to join the British fleet instead. This, apparently, caused major confusion in the RN and there is still an open inquiry about these events.

Better 1 in the North Sea than against Lodz. That's non-negative military thinking
Best regards, and thanks for the AAR

Now let us think further. Suppose in a round of combat, Germany, NOT being surprised because of the Polish ship...
sank that very ship (or ships) and remained at sea.
In the following naval combat rounds, would the Germans suffer from surprise ?
"The nasty Poles have been sunk, we now have nothing to fear from our friendly British enemies"
Has anybody tried it ?
Best regards

Both sides rolled a 8 on the initiative so Axis won and has to decide whether they want to go first or not.
Edit: I have not yet posted the end of turn information. It could be important that CW returned a TRS with Wavell to Alger (escorted by one BB and one CA).

Jan/Feb '40 End of Turn
All Allied countries reorganized all their units except CW. CW let Gort and a couple of cruisers remain unorganized.
