You did well all things told Grasshopper.
Now that the fog has lifted I am deeply puzzled by the various Allied decisions. The Russian & US tech levels are incredibly low for mid '43: ZERO level tanks for the US, level one for the Russians?! No Overlord could succeed at such levels, nor could any Russian counterattack, esp. given the L1 Infantry Weapons in both cases. No Allied country at level 2 Spying was also a curious lapse, giving the Axis a nice buff there.
I see why the British contributions to the invasion were so poor: he has units scattered all over the Middle East, but not engaging you, not invading Italy or Greece. 5 Allied air units [not incl. the one point Naval Bomber] in the UK wouldn't be able to support any invasion sufficiently either.
Welp you know what to do going forward: gotta invest in the Japanese navy, starting with building the Shokaku to join her sisters by the time Pearl Harbor is ready to be nuked. Gotta keep them together: if so his 4 CV force near the Marianas would have been easy pickings, esp. given your 1 tech edge in Long Range Aircraft. I typically try to push one IJN fleet CV out the door every 6-9 months or so.
Next is getting more German panzers into play in a timely fashion; it should be possible to max them all out by the first summer turns [all corps before June '41; all armies by June '42] if you plan ahead.
At any rate congratulations are in order. [&o]

Thanks for the AAR, that must have taken quite some time and effort, but it was great fun to follow! [:)]

Thanks for following and especially the great advice! I have no doubt that your advice was key to my victory. [&o]

Thanks! I'd dare say that my AAR skills FAR EXCEED my game skills. [:D]
Seriously though, I'd estimate that documenting the game in the fashion I did probably doubled the time it took me to play it. I'm retired and just enjoying life. Especially my WW2 gaming and reading hobbies. [8D]

So, what’s next? [:)]
1. Rematch in a couple of weeks with Jim, I suspect. This time as the allies.
2. Possible game with other who might be interested in beating up on a novice like me. Haven't identified any (other) opponent though.
3. Also, no more AARs for a while. I did this one because I hadn't much of a clue what I was doing. In fact, I hadn't played more than two turns against the AI until this game. Talking about stumbling around in the dark.
4. I relied heavily on my strategic WW2 gaming experience with MWiF and CEaW-GS for strategy, with the later (i.e., CEaW-GS) only relevant to Europe and North Africa. I did find my extensive play of MWiF extremely valuable for Europe, Africa and Asia (especially China).
5. I did mishandle my fleets; especially the IJN KB but to a lesser significant extent the KM and RM. The mishandling of the KM and RM was of lesser significant only because the performance of these fleets are less significant than the IJN. I really didn't understand the mechanics of naval units and air very well and it cost me. I understand them better than I did but not to the extent that I need too ... but I think that will come with time.
6. For WaW tactics and specifics I relied heavily on tips and advice posted to this AAR.
