Put 5 fighters + 5 bombers in a HQ.

Make five time airlift mission between adjacent HG, with the succesive bombers with each time 5 fighters escort.

At the end of the 5 supply mission put all 5 fighters in training mode.

You can easely gain 6-10 points/turns for each fighters at the beginning of 1941. Wich is very utile for the poor soviets in 1941.

Try it it works..

A quick test with Soviet units in '41. Wow. An average of 8.5 experience points per fighter escort after the missions, the subsequent training mode would add some more. All this and they didn't *DO* anything on the air lift missions but fly around in circles while the bombers dropped K-rations, hundreds of miles from the nearest Me-109?!?!!

Bug or feature? Folks, I'm on the verge of using that 'e' word again.

A bug if you ask me. Should not be done. Makes the Soviet air force too strong too quickly and too easily.

This exploitation should not be used just as we don´t use hq-mules. I Think this must be added to Lorenzo´s list of pbem-standard rules.

To All

I just tried it out with german aircraft in '41.
All Ftrs had about 10% damaged a/c.
After 5 missions ftrs with trainibg 90+ gained
nothing, 1 with 84 gained 2 and one with 64 gained 6.

Not valid for the germans.
But this would be usefull to the soviets.

Might be valid for soviet fighters with training 20 to 30?

But otherwise an exploit.

This is a bug in my view or a cheat and it should not be used.

I think so too. Its an unintended bug, which is the definition of an exploit. Its been reported and will be on the future buglist, if not fixed soon. Until then it should be covered by a house rule. It looks like Lorenzo needs to update his list.

The original Second front had this effect also.
Of course you ould only fly 1 mission a turn so i only had a little effect (but useful). Proabably had about the effect of training does in WIR.

Ed,

I think it is difficult to put them on the buglist 'cause the same airlift mission or any others missions on the frontline without any fighters opponent will give you the same result.

The best way is to put these on the Lorenzo list.

Snifff... I was wonder it will help soviets to stay on course for 1942 and further more.

BTW Happy New Years to everyone here on the forum and a lot of Pbem.

I believe Arnaud had made a change at one time where the only way fighters could gain experience would be through training, or combat. Escorting missions that did not have any combat would not result in experience gains, or losses for that matter, unless flak fired. This covered this situation quite will, but it seems to have stopped working this way.

All the more reason for this to be stopped. As Rick just said, logically, fighters should only get experience during training and combat. It doesn't matter where the mission occurs, fighters don't really gain anything on a mission where they don't *do* anything.
