Hey guys. Just out of curiosity, I am a game developer interested in developing a game like this except maybe with football. Either way, I was just concerned about the legality of it. For instance, do roayalties need to be paid to either the MLB, teams or players for having their names and so on? Also, do you need permission? Thanks all.

There was some recent legal case about MLB and the stats generated during the seasons.  Not sure if it applies to names/team names or what.
