Shaun,
I have noticed that in some years, no rookie awards are given out at all, and in other years...only one of the two awards is given out.
I presume it's not supposed to work that way?

Could this be because no player had the requirements for the award? I would hate to see the award go to a pitcher that pitched .3 inning with 0 hits win the award because he had a 0.00 ERA with no hits allowed in the season.[&:]

I don't think so, though I'll have to go back and look to be sure. I say I don't think so because it was only the 2nd season of the league. Given that, I'm pretty sure there were plenty of viable candidates.

Nomo is correct, it was likely that there were no candidates that qualified.
